Bizarre. Seems adding a first name to the admin user does indeed enable the “Author” box to appear on create/edit posts page. Worked for me.

I can not find the “author” box on a the create or edit posts page.

Who can help resolve this rather large problem???

Why does removing “display:block” correct the problem? What does “display:block” do exactly?

Solution is, your .htaccess file should include the following:

DirectoryIndex index.php index.htm index.html

I am not able to create new pages and DO NOT HAVE A .htaccess file in my word press directory???? Where is this file located? Thank you.
