You already had my hopes up, that some wordpress developer would already shed some light on if my observation is accurate.

Or rather, it worked, until I updated to 3.0.2 and installed XRDS. Though I cannot say what it was that I did that broke it.

I have the same problem on my multisite WP install. I can sign up, but I cannot sign in. Instead I get the message that the user already exists.
