That should give you just the number… If it doesn’t, try this:

Where did you install wordpress?

Are you talking about a wordpress.com (meaning hosted) blog, or you mean you downloaded and installed wordpress on your own server?

If you installed it on your own server, who did you get the server from? They can give you the IP address and should be able to help you point a domain name to the install.

post the index.php so we can see it! ?? hard to tell without more information…

Did you ever solve this? Seems like the problem is still there in WP 2.6.1… ??

The issue is that any “post” page selected in the Reading Options will only pull the default (index.php) template, and not the template that is specified by the Page entry.

Removing the page from the “post” designation, and navigating to the slug will show the correct page template. ??
