i recently came up with problem i have and i still havn’t figured it out.
i use the grid quiet often but now i came along the issue that a headline of a post (actually its a page) is too long and i thought if there is maybe a way to use the menu title instead of the page title to be displayed as “headline” of my posts in the grid?

and the second issue i have is that now since i use almost only pages that my page template where i display the grid (home.php) is listed as result itself. is there a way to hide the page that loads the grid from displaying them self, since i use it on several pages on the actual project. Any idea???

thanks a lot for your message. I have “automated” the insertion of the gallery, because i only post photos / photo albums, so i actually don’t use the textfield at all ( i might use custom fields instead). I already thought about the two gallery solution and this is what i am actually doing right now in a little different way. I use the plugin “User Access Manager” and you can create User groups, so i basically create for each user a new user group and restrict the post only for this group. this works fine so far, but it is too much work on a long term. the solution you have mentioned would makes a gallery visible to all subscribers / logged in users. i was more hoping to find a solution where i can connect / assign specific images of a gallery to one (or more) specific user.
So i was hoping that there is a plugin out there that similar to “multiple galleries” has a little check box or even better assign images to a user / user group as “User Access Manager” does it with posts. i am surprised that there seems nothing out there..

Anyway, thanks so much, i will definitely keep this in mind, because it is actually interesting for an other project i might will use your trick! ??

first i have to say i was reading through this and although i certainly understand how difficult it is sometimes for people who have no idea and have to ask, i honestly admire your patience. i don’t see that very often that someone helps it that much and this constantly as you did. WOW!!! Saying this, i also promise right away that i hopefully won’t need that much assistance. ??
I was trying to use the grid of posts (like you have on https://www.transformationpowertools.com/wordpress/grid-posts) in my twentyten adaption as a page template and not as start page / index.php. Unfortunately i get totaly lost within all three posts of you about posts in grids and can’t figure it out. I also tried to follow the steps here, created the loop-grid template, added the css parts, but this doesnt work like this. so as more i try without getting any closer it feels like i am even more lost as when i started. i am confused what i actually have to do and which snippet to paste where? i also tried to paste the given snippet (https://www.transformationpowertools.com/wordpress/playing-with-columns-stacking-posts-grid-style) into my template (mygallery.php), but this either crashes the site, or did nothing to it at all and the posts still where all underneath each other. even the given css didnt changed a thing about it.
i post photo album and have created a template to post them alltogether (mygallery.php). i already use a function to only display the featured thumbnail and not the whole album. now i wanted to have them appear in a grid, but can’t get it run. what did i missed or which of your three methods would be the right one for me? How do i start? Thanks alot!!

I have the issue that DownloadManager disappear in the Backend for all user, if its not admin. Will this also fix it? Or do i miss something else out?

Hi, i use the plugin adminimize to manage access/visibility over my complete backend. It works fine for me with contact-form as well.. hope that will help

I have a similar issue. when i saw that there is an update available, i deactivated the plugin, auto-updated it, activated it again. In my WordPress Backend i still have my form and it appears as it should. But my Error Messages / Validation Error Messages are all somehow reset. The wired thing is, that in the Backend the Settings for “Messages” are still customised as i did it before, but those changes don’t take effect anymore and on the website appears the standard messages. I dont know what to do now, since the settings in the backend are not taking effect on the frontend after updating.

Hi, i am completely new to all that and i am not sure if this will be helpful. Once i had uploaded all of my posts and pages etc.. the ID of my categories had changed and several posts don’t show up anymore or on the wrong page. Is this script helpfull to assign a different ID to the existing categories? and if yes, how do i “run” it?
