my fault i think i figured it out as well ..didn’t move one of the files to the specified folder..will try that now.

IM confused I have the same problem Raevenne! Where in the world is the Menu editor?! I installed as both network activated and as mu-plugins and neither way allowed me to find menu editor under settings. I checked on main site and on Network admin..where is the mysterious settings option?! thanks!

Thanks a lot Mika! I was using it though not for mapping per se but for users to be able to create site with their choice of 3 different domains. but i found this was confusing anyway since cookies are not synced across domains for security reasons. so im ok with not offering this right now ??

Thanks so much for your quick reply! I found a BUG and I love finding those! haha..It ended up being a bug with WPMUDev’s “Multi-Domains” plugin! When installed and activated it removes the “Site_Name” from New Sites emails and replaces it with “New wordpress site”

When I uninstalled it, the emails went back to saying “New Site_name Site” and replaced the signature with the Site_name as well. So its definitely something to do with the Multi Domains plugin not being able to understand what “Site” has just been created. Very strange and I have reported it to them.

OH yup you are right..I dont use “www” and have been told by others to never use www on a wordpress blog….i thought it was a rule (shrugs shoulders) ??

yeah I had heard that wordpress.com is doing something similar too! so now i know it must be possible! haha..I believe it or not never signed up for a blog on wordpress.com ..i hate limitations haha ??

Oh ok..glad it just wasn’t my computer or network ….and ok that makes more sense…I totally agree mapped domains wouldn’t work but so far I have been lucky to have subdomains work without issue. being able to comment on any blog in the network without having to log in each time so that is good!

haha that is a good point I suppose but it makes you wonder how other sites do it so well without having any issues (ie. tumblr) though I do know its not based on wordpress obviously…

I found the “Follow” plugin that I think will work for me for now anyway. Thought the Dashboard Feeds plugin is pretty amazing at wpmu but its network activated and not per site basis ?? haha… Thanks for your help Mika

I have heard this said plenty of times but honestly I never once had that issue. Is that because im Super Admin (having a duh moment lol) I am able to go to main site then to subsite and automatically see that im logged in.

Use the Multisite User Management plugin which allows you to set a role for new users on all sites on the network..but you don’t need this plugin to ensure they stay logged in across sub domains ..they already are by default and are “pseudo subscribers” to each site on the network which means they can comment and are already logged in.

Haha yes I read your site from time to time ?? You are an amazing help! I have been creating networks for 3 years now but I haven’t ever poked my head in here on the forums but decided since I enjoy helping those I know I should try helping those I don’t!

Btw, the Admin user name change plugin (cant remember the author) broke my site for a brief period but I was able to get it back so please don’t try that one. The one that works is “Better WP Security”
