Thanks for the assistance, really appreciated!

I forgot to mention earlier that this is a multisite.

I have removed Wordfence as described, although the file wordfence-waf.php wasn’t there, also, even after using Wordfence Assistant, there are a lot of folders in mphpmyadmin beginning with ‘wf’ that appear to be Wordfence related.

Worst of all, the issue with the 403 is still present. I shall leave Wordfence off temporarily to see if I can work out what is going on.

I shall report back when I have a solution.

If you’re seeing the Activation Error, then activate Zapier from the ADMIN > PLUGINS page, NOT from the page you see immediately after installing Zapier.

Mine too clones the site, but NS Cloner process doesn’t actually end, the same as yours.

Hopefully @neversettle has enough data to investigate what is actually happening with this. Hopefully, even though this case is ‘resolved’, they’ll work it out and something will come in the next update.

OK, result!

The culprit appears to be Rank Math SEO!

I updated rankmath to latest version on my staging site, NSCloner starts working again.

I disabled rankmath on my live site, NSCloner starts working again.

both versions use RankMath 1.0.50

UPDATE: My Staging site, which is an exact copy of my main site, except it had 8 plugins that needed updating. I have gone through and updated them one-by-one, but running NSCloner in between each update. This has proved that there is no conflict between the plugins.

What I am going to do now is copy my main site (where NS Cloner doesn’t work) and one-by-one switch off each plugin and see if that proves anything.

“If you contact your host they may be able to help provide an actual error log” – I have server access, via Plesk and SSH. Which exact log is it?

I did this message previously on the NS Cloner pop-up.

“It appears background processing may be getting blocked on the server (or could just be running slowly). Activating backup AJAX processing to ensure completion, so please keep this window open.”

Ah! I have an previous staging of this from a few weeks ago, that is showing 8 plugins that need updating.

I have nothing set to auto-update.

I just whitelisted the URL request.body[flag=ns_cloner_process_init].

Still no luck.

I think I’ll clone this entire multisite to a staging domain and start switching off the plugins one-by-one.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled NS Cloner. Am running out of things to check.

Any ideas? ??

If I run NS Cloner, this seems to be the only error in the log:
