I come from a different angle – a marketing guy who does websites since 1995, not a design guy who does marketing.

So …. I found the orange to be jarring, the only background which is not an earth tone. The love to look at big header photo, but they can kill what you say you want to achieve — there’s too little room left “above the fold” for that one second you have.

Are you about flowers or gardening? You know your market better than I do but: Might you better on “selling” your site with a home page header of a gardener instead of a garden?

On structure, you may enjoy how the elements are arranged at the Idaho Botanical Gardens.

    https://www.idahobotanicalgarden.org/

A very shallow header pic, then a larger pic centered with — in your case the article. How many elements greet me and (to me) without looking too dense.

    Luck!

Every place I look in this forum, it sends me to the reset_password page … which has nothing at all like my own phpMyAdmin.

There is no place to “edit” the password. Perhaps a newer version?

“That’s also exactly what the Resetting Your Password article, using phpMyAdmin section, explains. “

It’s wrong. Perhaps an outdated phpMyAdmin?

It worked fine for me. It told me exactly what to change in the database, for the additional URL. But I had no config issues prior to that.

My case may be rare. I have 55 categories in one blog, and want to use only about 20 of them as repeats, in a blog to a more targeted market segment. I am stuck posting to both of them now, but not that big a pain with email posting.

Duh! I needed the wordpress subdirectory.

But that places the feed inside the right sidebar, and I want it to look like a posting to the second site. Visitors’s should not see the first site at all.

Sorry if I was unclear, but that’s what I meant by the second blog using only three categories from the first blog. This is a humor site with 50 categories. A few of those categories can support their own separate blog, which is what I’m trying to do.

I found the hack … it is INCLUDED in the index.php file for my theme, as supplied by Blog Oh Blog!!!

Presumably, they get any commissions from this rip-off. See for yourself. Go to https://www.blogohblog.com/wordpress-theme-limau-orange/ and download the theme.

If you have anybof their themes, I suggest checking for the bogus ad script.

I get the following error. I know there’s a feed because I receive it daily!

Error: could not find an RSS or ATOM feed at that URL.

Thanks again, Michael. That’s precisely what is unclear! On which site to put the code. You’re good!!

Thanks, Michael. It’s not that clear, but I can probably find the details. I’m new to blogging, but I’ve been doing websites since 1995, so I’m not used to being a dummy again. ??

Uhhhm I know where it’s supposed to be … even if the guy I responded to hadn’t told me. Duh.

It’s not there. So, in a single sentence, you manage to be wrong twice.

I opened a second account at wordpress.com — got a second key — and that doesn’t work either.

Why are so many of you here so darn insulting? Why did you make such an ignorant assumption about me???

Do you need a screenshot of my profile?????

You’re both wong. And I’ve been creating web pages since 1995, slick. This is merely my first WordPress update.

And who are you to claim the Codex here is worthless? Do you even have a clue what’s in the Codex, versus the the “total instructions” packd with the download.

    Here are the total instructions:
Delete your old WP files, saving ones you’ve modified.
    Upload the new files.
    Point your browser to /wp-admin/upgrade.php.
You wanted more, perhaps? That’s it!

    hahaha

If you knew what you were talking about, the lines that SUCK never tell users any of the following:

    1) Deactivate all plugins.
    2) Backup the database
    3) Which files and directories to delete, before uploading.
    4) Update permalinks and .htaccess, and merge special rules into .htaccess

And several other less critical steps.

Oh yeah: ADD THE THREE SECURITY KEYS.

lESSON OF THE DAY: Before insulting me, try knowing what you’re talking about.

Now try and do something productive around here … and helping users … instead of babbling about things you know nothing about.

Now I’ve opened a second account and have TWO API keys that don’t work.

The api key is listed in the askimet settings, where it give a key and says it’s valid, but it doesn’t work for the stats!

Same Problem. The key works for akismet, and should work for stats???

No, it is not in my profile. I just looked.

I can’t run the stats program without it.
