I already edited the plugin config and added the right container. I have confirmed that the lightbox works but only after the page is fully done loading. I noticed that if you click an image before the page loads nothing happens, so maybe the script is loading at the end?

On my phone, when you click an image it links to the jpg versus using the lightbox.

Sorry, I wasn’t clear. You have the right idea, send someone a link and the site will open the correct image in the lightbox on load.

For me, this would be a low priority but a nice touch.

A simple UI is great, and I have seen some interesting design in the past. The problem is, you can’t just develop design for tech savvy millennials. Photo sites are different than say, a CPU overclocking site. You can assume that your target audience for the latter knows their way around the web.

If my elderly mother visited the site and opened the lightbox, she would be lost. She would not know how to close it, and would be looking around the page for something.

A while back, I tried a new theme that was very minimal. I thought it may showcase photos in a better way, without any distracting UI elements. When you went to the site, you didn’t see a menu or any navigation. If you put your cursor all the way to the left, the menu would fly in. Great visuals but terrible user experience for anyone who couldn’t figure that out. That theme didn’t last.

Regardless, some people might want to clutter the UI a little bit to make it easy for an 85 year old grandma to figure things out ??

I’m not expecting anything to be implemented tomorrow, or at all in fact. I’m just providing suggestions to improve the product in the future. My suggestions may not be what others want, or they may be available in other plugins. Regardless, the choice is yours (and Jordy’s).

I’m providing my input both as a photographer and as a long time developer of software and web applications. Just suggestions ??
