In reply to: [12 Step Meeting List] Assign “Temporary Closure” flag to locationWhat happened to this issue?
We are having meetings closing again so we have to set this flag again to locations with 50 or more meetings at each location.
We really need location flags/types.Forum: Plugins
In reply to: [12 Step Meeting List] Online Meetings/Hybrid Meetings IssuesJust wanted to add, I think people will get used to the idea that a meeting with Online attribute and logo may also be live. The Meeting Guide app may end up with a different icon for those meetings.

In reply to: [12 Step Meeting List] Online Meetings/Hybrid Meetings IssuesI do not have a problem with the current meeting highlight/dim implementation. The only meetings I see dim are ones with Location Temporarily Closed attribute set with no Online Meeting attribute set. In other words, no version of that meeting is active.
I can live with the requirement that Online meetings need a street address but this is an ongoing issue with the meeting secretaries. They typically do not want to use their personal street address and do no want to use any other address as they don’t want the online meeting to be affiliated with a church, city building, park or commercial business. Our Central Office has chosen to use an address by default that used to hold our Intergroup’s P&I meetings. The address is totally irrelevant to the meeting but meets the physical address requirement.
Hybrid meetings are a transitional phenomenon and may be temporary. Some meetings are offering both live and online but we expect that once the quarantine is lifted, the online version will be dropped. Some clubs created online meetings using the club’s physical address. With the current attributes there is no way to indicate an Online Meeting affiliated with an open location (ie. Alano club) but does not meet live at all. That is, there is no difference between an hybrid meeting and an Online Meeting meeting using the address of an open location.
I offer a couple of suggestions:
– Remove the requirement of a street address for online meetings.
– Add a hybrid attribute which means the meeting is both Online and Live.We have had three zoom bombings so far. One incident, a group of about seven joined the meeting started spewing offensive language and posted pics of a naked guy in a bathtub(?). The host immediately closed the meeting but went in later out of curiosity. The trolls were still there, video on, young teen boys and not saying anything to each other. I suggested some options such as using the Waiting room but he said “screw it, just take the password down and I’ll get it to the members”. I asked what about the newcomer, and he said he’d rather have a meeting for a few than no meeting at all. He was uncomfortable about putting his phone # in the meeting info but was ok with a contact email.
Whatever solution we come up with, it has to be simple because not all hosts are tech savvy.

In reply to: [12 Step Meeting List] Plug-in too picky with “Online Meeting” typeThat makes total sense. I would much rather rely on the plug-in vetting an URL for security issues.
That being said, I’m not understanding why the “Online Meeting” type is tied to a legitimate URL and/or phone #.
Also, should I boot this URL? I don’t know if it’s legit.

I have no problem restricting our website’s online meetings to zoom, gotomeeting, hangouts …Forum: Plugins

In reply to: [12 Step Meeting List] Planned Plugin ChangesMost of the zoom meetings are being submitted with the zoom meeting ID only without the zoom URL. I notice some of the zoom URLs are different so I don’t want to just make it up.

In reply to: [12 Step Meeting List] Planned Plugin ChangesUsing the plug-in UI:
The “Online Meeting” type requires a URL in the new video conference field in order for the “Online Meeting” type to stick.Forum: Plugins
In reply to: [12 Step Meeting List] Planned Plugin ChangesI updated to 3.6.1
I selected the new “Online Meeting” type through the plug-in UI but it didn’t stick after I updated.
I was able to add the “Online Meeting” type by importing the meeting csv file.
I was able to update a meeting using the plug-in UI with the “Online Meeting” type but I’m not sure why that worked but the prior attempt with a different meeting didn’t.Forum: Plugins

In reply to: [12 Step Meeting List] Planned Plugin ChangesThe “Temporary Closure” type is associated with the meeting not the location. The Meeting Guide app displays this type as “This meeting is temporarily not meeting” which of course is not true in the case of transitioning to online meetings. This is confusing to the users because they wonder is this meeting closed or not? I’m sure this is even more confusing to newcomers using the Meeting Guide app.
I don’t know if we need to convey what type of online tool is being used. We are ok putting that in the meeting info field.
We’d really like something we can associate with the physical location because in truth, the physical location is temporarily closed but the meeting is still ongoing in virtual space.
We are also getting requests for a separate spreadsheet on the website showing all the online meetings. We’ve been resisting that because we will end up supported two dbases with the usual issues.

In reply to: [12 Step Meeting List] Planned Plugin ChangesBravo! Bravo! Bravo!
One big complaint is when the meeting has the “Temporary Closure” flag set, the meeting is grayed out on both the website and the Meeting Guide app. This is true even though the meeting is still alive and well in the virtual realm.
Would a unique “Temporary Online” flag be more appropriate? The meeting displayed would not be grayed out but may have some other indicator that it is online.Forum: Plugins
In reply to: [12 Step Meeting List] Online Meeting SupportI like the idea of picking a local entity like SeaWorld or Disneyland as an address.
