In reply to: Adding a background image to a widgetThanks for the reply.
The page I’m testing this on is here: https://airsoundvision.com.au/site1308/gallery/
But I’ve already worked out how to do it by adding some custom css to the id=”ad-hoc-1″ div.
I was hoping this could be made self contained for easier maintenance. It would be nice to include everything in the widget.

In reply to: Blank Admin Pages After Transferring SiteI’m going to try reinstalling all the plugins from scratch, including the ones that don’t appear to be causing the problem. So far I’ve just been moving them between a temp directory and the plugins directory.

In reply to: Blank Admin Pages After Transferring SiteYes, they were all moved from same old IX Web hosting server to the same new IX Web hosting server.
I can’t find any error logs. I’m guessing IX Web hosting doesn’t give access to them. I only have the access logs.
The only thing I can think of is that something has become corrupted during the move. I have tried re-uploading the whole site and I’ve tried reinstalling the plugins (and WordPress and the Suffusion theme).

In reply to: Blank Admin Pages After Transferring SiteThanks for your reply.
I understand about not editing core files (and I put it back to normal), but I’m getting desperate. I’m a programmer and used to being able to debug things.
The theory of conflicting plugins doesn’t make sense to me since this site worked fine before the move. Also, I use all these plugins on the other 3 sites (and the same theme on 2 of them).

In reply to: Blank Admin Pages After Transferring SiteI tried reinstalling WordPress. No change.
I notice the last php block in edit.php is not closed.
<?php include('./admin-footer.php');
I compared it to a good installation and it has the same thing, but I tried adding the ?> to the end of the file and it didn’t appear to make any difference.

In reply to: Blank Admin Pages After Transferring SiteOn further investigation it looks like certain combinations of plugins will cause this problem. I can get it to work with Yoast SEO and Counterize as long as I don’t include Subscribe2 or Login Logout, but it works fine with Subscribe2 as long as Counterize and SEO are not included. There are other combinations that cause the problem too, but nothing by itself or with some other plugins.
This has to be just a symptom of something else.
Everything was working fine until I downloaded the installation from the old hosting account and uploaded it to the new one. Both are with the same host and the other 3 sites I moved in the last couple of days work without problems.
I don’t know what I can try next short of completely wiping the site and the hundreds of posts.
I think I’ve worked out what to do.
All existing registered users need to be manually subscribed. I can do this by clicking “Edit” next to each email address, but I discovered that if I choose any filter apart from the default setting an option appears to bulk manage users.
I’m not sure why that doesn’t show up when there is no filter applied.

In reply to: New user emails sent from "WordPress"Okay, thank you both. Going to that sort of trouble is a bit much just to change the “from” address. Does anyone know of a plug-in that can do this?

In reply to: New user emails sent from "WordPress"Subscribe2 has an “Send Email From:” selection under Notification Settings on the Scribe2 settings screen.
Yes, that seems to work fine. The issue is with new user registrations.
Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: New user emails sent from "WordPress"Not that I’m aware of. I wouldn’t expect a theme to have anything to do with how users are handled.
Okay, I just tested this with another web site and different theme. The same thing happens so it looks like either I am doing something on all WP installations to cause this or this is normal behavior.
If it’s normal, then what’s the point of:
Settings->General->E-mail Address ?Forum: Plugins
In reply to: [Captcha] [Plugin: Captcha] new update won't let us to change settingsActually, the problem seems to be worse that that for me. Since saving settings Captcha no longer even shows on the registration page or on comments
