Hi, when you activate the option “Hide icons to expand / collapse categories. (The link will be used to expand / collapse categories)”,
and you want to keep collapsed the categories, you have to activate the option “collaps categories”.

Well, I tested in 4.8.3 and I don’t see two category widget in admin page when edit a post. Is possible what you have other plugin for the categories widget in admin pages?

Hello scorpion3367, it is a bug. The plugin only expand the father category for first level of subcategories. Not work for two and three levels.

this plugin have one css class only (.hide). You can modify the style from style.css file of you theme.
