I experience the exact same behaviour on my sites. After an initial hooray with the fresh install and activation of the plugin, the scores have all dropped to a C or even D on each and every site.

I am a bit sorry for Till to get so much flak for an obviously fine plugin. But I myself (being a Premium user at that) had the same issue over the past year with totally unresponsive support from the author.

It took several tries and a raised voice to get a reluctant and partial answer. I do not like that in software I a. rely upon, b. tell clients that it is reliable and safe and c. I paid the premium price for. Now WordFence warns me that the plugin may be unsafe because it has not been updated for two years. This is not helping raise my confidence in any way.

Thank you, Oooh Boi, I understand your reasoning and take your expert advice to ponder upon. I am not disappointed in your leaving Elementor behind, you seem to know exactly what you are doing. I have heard of fresher tools like Webflow, Bricks and Breakdance. Thing for me is that I am more of a designer than a developer, so all these (costly) changes under the hood (and the learning curve!) are difficult to communicate to clients. ?Why have you recommended Elementor in the first place?? ?I thought everyone uses WordPress?? being only some of the questions). I’ll look at Full Site Editing at the moment, hoping this technique to last longer than DoomDivi and EnervatingElementor ??

I somewhat agree with you, but probably only for lack of candidates to compare Elementor to that I, personally, have tried. I think the Divi ?visual? builder still beats everything in that regard, though. Annoying with Elementor are the many security issues, forcing one to constantly update client’s sites. For free, of course, because the client sees no value added by the update.

Is that why you obviously have given up development of your fine Steroids Plugin?

@factorchem: if I may ask: I have the same problem. Popup deactivated in the backend, plugin deactivated – popup still showing in the frontend. What was the solution that helped you with this issue?

I am experiencing the exact same behavior since yesterday evening. The Plugins (all latest versions) have been running for a week, without problems. When I deactivate and reactivate the lot it works again, with one exception. The culprit – in my case – seems to be the Advanced Ads for WP Bakery plugin. Please resolve the issue. Much appreciated, thank you!
