In reply to: [SportsPress - Sports Club & League Manager] ERR_TOO_MANY_REDIRECTSI’ve been using the Sportspress plugin for over a year, and had this issue once whenever I switched my site from HTTP to HTTPS.
Based on the links on your website, I see that your permalink settings are still on default. Have you tried changing it to “custom structure” just to see what happens?
Yes sir. I’ve got no idea what happened since I started this topic, but the issue seems to have fixed itself.
Issue is resolved. Thank ya sir.
@rochesterj perfect, thank you sir.

In reply to: [SportsPress - Sports Club & League Manager] Site Origin page builderI use Site Origin page builder along with Sportspress. But like you, I had issues with the SportsPress plugin shortcodes, but the SportsPress widget works good, and has been responsive thus far.

In reply to: [XML Sitemap Generator for Google] HTML sitemap not xml..helpI had the same issue in regards to my sitemap.xml redirecting to my homepage. But after deleting the plugin, and then re-installing it, my sitemap.xml comes up.
So try that and see if it works. Be sure you don’t have any other sitemaps being generated by other plugins (i.e., Yoast SEO, All-in-One SEO, etc.)
Right. I do appreciate your kind and informative reply. And I do like the options that miniOrange provides (in regards to your WordPress plugins), but I’m not a fan of “demos” or free trials. Just a personal issue.
But due to your kind response, I will increase my rating to 4 stars; sorry I can’t give it a 5-star rating.
Best Regards.
@mbrsolution
Hey thanks for your response. I was only wondering because I enabled both the “6G Firewall Protection” and “legacy 5G Firewall Protection”, but found it wierd that only one of the two options was shown in my htaccess file.I do appreciate the quick reply, and thanks again for the advice!
Hey what’s up, thanks for your response. But no sir I do not use the duplicator WP plugin, I have in the past on other sites. I do use All In One WP Security and WP-DBManager that have similar options to the duplicator WP plugin, but I have only used both plugins for database backups.
It’s not a big issue as of right now. You may be on to something in regards to WP itself, because other sites (only two) that I have updated the free version of SportsPress on do not have the issue, but I also have not yet updated those same two sites to the most recent versions of WP, just due to experimental purposes. WordPress version 4.4 doesn’t seem to have an effect on the feature as the end of all event URLs match the relevant ID given to the event Shortcode.
Overall, this isn’t a big issue to worry about. I just found it very interesting that the URLs were different in regards to what they have been in the past (ie, URL number matched Shortcode number).
I was scared that the initial “pending event” would be shown as duplicate content after becoming updated to a “published event”. I was also worried that the initial event (aka first URL) would lead to a 404 Page, and may need a redirection plugin to the published event (aka second URL) due to the difference in URLs after changing the status on the same event.
As mentioned though, I’ve only tried this on manual/single events, I’ll let you know how a my big Excel/CSV import goes, and as long as the URLs are relevant to each other, I’ll be happy/resolved and update my ticket.
When you go to edit your Calendar, you should see a “Sort Order” option under the “Details” tab. Mine is right after the “Team” option.
If that’s not clear, here’s the youtube link to the ThemeBoy Tutorial on Calenders – How to Create Event Calendars in SportsPress

In reply to: [SportsPress - Sports Club & League Manager] Staff who is also playerI’d wait for the SportsPress team to advise you. But just brain storming, you could:
(A) Add John Smith as a player, and also add him as a coach. On his player page, you could add the shortcode to his staff/coach statistics, and on his coach page, you could add the shortcode for his player statistics.
(B) Personally, I would just have a link to the player statistics on the staff/coach page that says “Player Profile”, and have a link on the player page to the staff/coach page that says “Coaching Profile”.
(C) You can add positions (for players and staff), but if you did add a “player-and-coach” position, I’m thinking it would require coding knowledge; and overall, you never want player statistics to get mixed in with staff statistics.So as mentioned in (B), I’d enter him as a coach and as a player, keeping the data seperate from one another, just be sure to put a simple hyperlink on the page linking to one another.
Good luck.
@brian alright man, it’s fixed. I use Autoptimize and the plugin moves styles to the page head and can move scripts to the footer (as mentioned before, for speed/performance abilities). But unchecking the option under their plugin settings to not allow my JavaScript Code to be optimized, which didn’t optimize them and move them to the footer did the trick. I’m happy with it and subscribers are too.
Maybe it will help others in the future? I don’t use the League Menu at the top, but just for fun I enabled it under my SportsPress settings with my JavaScript optimization on, and the League Menu disappeared all together. But I do use the new horizontal scroll-scoreboard, and optimizing the JavaScript for that did not make it disappear, but it ended up moving it to the footer of the page. Then not allowing the optimization of my JS moved it back to the header of the page. So no issue for me, but in case somebody has the issue for future references. thanks again.
Topic resolved, thank ya sir.
