You’re welcome to try, I checked all sub-options of the CSS part but they all didn’t work; all CSS was stripped from the page. Pingdom showed the css file loaded, but it didn’t work, not sure why. Have emailed you there, thanks for responding.

YAAASSSSS FOUND A SOLUTION! Friend of mine answered on Facebook so I’ll share here for anyone else woh might have this:

Edit .htaccess and add the following line:

DirectoryIndex index.php index.html

Closing this now. Woohoo!

I just checked the error logs in cPanel, below:

[autoindex:error] [pid 864675] [client 60.52.8.72:49259] AH01276: Cannot serve directory /(web url)/wp-admin/: No matching DirectoryIndex (index.html) found, and server-generated directory index forbidden by Options directive

[rewrite:warn] [pid 864675] AH00665: RewriteCond: NoCase option for non-regex pattern ‘-f’ is not supported and will be ignored. (/(web url)public_html/.htaccess:32)

Could it be an Apache setting that’s out of my reach? I can only access up to cPanel. I’ve opened a ticket with my hosting, hope that fixes it. Meanwhile does anyone else have any possible solutions?

First of all, thanks for your reply! Yes, I followed the steps pretty closely I think (my reference was https://www.wpexplorer.com/migrating-wordpress-website/)

Basically:
1. Copied files from old to new server
2. Exported & imported MySQL database
3. Changed db settings in wp-config

Thanks for your reply. Today I opened the site again, and voila, everything works as advertised. Changed nothing.

Then my client contacted me and said he couldn’t edit any posts, but could Add New Posts without problems (mine was the opposite). But it works for him in Internet Explorer (didn’t for me). He cleared his cache and reinstalled Chrome, but it didn’t work either. But it was working for him on mobile.

Then he cleared his cache again, from the beginning of time, and voila, it magically worked.

Debugging and troubleshooting. If it works, I don’t know why. If it doesn’t, I don’t know why. Lol.

Problem is, my client doesn’t want to add new content on the front page. Blank lines would be no different from the 750px forced height.
