In reply to: [Mammoth .docx converter] Recommended way to add custom style mapsHello Peter,
The latest version should have support for reading embedded style maps. At the moment, the easiest way of embedding a style map into a document is to visit this URL:
https://mike.zwobble.org/projects/mammoth/embed-style-map/
If you upload your Word document and enter the style map you want to use and then hit “Embed”, it will generate the same Word document except with the style map embedded into it. When you try to import that Word document, it should use the embedded style map.
A word of warning: support for all of this is a bit experimental at the moment, so exactly how it all works might change in the future.
Let me know how you get on: it works when I’ve tried it out, but it’d be great to hear whether it works for you, and whether this approach sounds sensible to you.

In reply to: [Mammoth .docx converter] Recommended way to add custom style mapsHello Peter,
At the moment, the WordPress plugin doesn’t expose any functionality to allow style maps to be used. I’ve previously considered adding support to save and use style maps, but that would make the plugin considerably more complicated since it now has to persist data.
The alternative is to somehow save the style map in the Word document, such as in a comment. Would such an approach work for you?

Hello Manksy,
Thanks for the report. Could you answer a few questions that should help to work out what the problem is?
* What version of Internet Explorer and Windows are you using?
* Can you get any more information from the error, such as a stack trace and line numbers?
* Do you get the same error in other browsers, such as Firefox or Chrome?
* Do you get the same error if you try a different document, such as a blank document?

In reply to: [Mammoth .docx converter] Footnote error target undefinedLooks like it’s the links within the footnotes causing the problem. Could you try the latest version of the plugin and see if the problem is fixed?

In reply to: [Mammoth .docx converter] Footnote error target undefinedThanks for the kind words Peter. Unfortunately, the link to the example you provided doesn’t seem to be working for me: I get a page stating “This page does not exist”

In reply to: [Mammoth .docx converter] How to use?In that case, I’m not sure there’s much I can do to help without adding special support for PageBuilder, and I’m not likely to have time to do so in the near future. The only suggestion I have would be to copy and paste the HTML that Mammoth generates, although that won’t include pictures.

In reply to: [Mammoth .docx converter] How to use?I would suspect that one of those plugins is interfering with Mammoth. Does Mammoth work if you disable the other plugins? If so, then try re-enabling them one-by-one until you find the one that’s breaking Mammoth.
If you could let me know if you’re getting any JavaScript errors, then that would help narrow down the problem.

In reply to: [Mammoth .docx converter] How to use? What plugins do you have installed? In particular, are you using the normal WordPress editor?
If you open up the console for your browser, do you see any JavaScript errors after hitting “Insert into editor”?
Does the preview display the HTML you’d expect?

In reply to: [Mammoth .docx converter] How to use?Hello Peter,
The “Insert into editor” button should put the converted document into the editor. What happens when you try to click that button?

In reply to: [Mammoth .docx converter] Doesn't work well for me, why?Hello,
The latest version of Mammoth now includes text from text boxes. Since Mammoth produces a linear document, it will put the content of a text box after the paragraph containing the text box. At the very least, this should mean that the content of the document is included in the generated document.
Based on the document you sent me, that should fix your issue.

In reply to: [Mammoth .docx converter] Doesn't work well for me, why?Hello,
Mammoth normally does fine with documents just containing text. If bits are missing, then that suggests that unsupported features are being used, such as text boxes. Are any warnings produced by Mammoth when you run the import? If you’d like to send me an example, then feel free to send it to [email protected].

In reply to: [Mammoth .docx converter] Custom DevelopmentHello! Thanks for the kind words. The functionality you’ve described is certainly possible, but I have no plans to offer a paid version. I’m afraid it’s unlikely that I’ll have time to implement either feature in the near future, although I’ll take a look at bulk import should I find myself with the time.

In reply to: [Mammoth .docx converter] Using the plugin with CKeditorHello Christian,
The latest version of the plugin has support for CKEditor, based on the implementation in the ckeditor-for-wordpress plugin.
Thanks

In reply to: [Mammoth .docx converter] Using the plugin with CKeditorHello Christian,
Many thanks for the kind words. You’re right that the plugin currently doesn’t support CKEditor. I’ll see if adding support would be tricky, although it might be a week or two until I find time. To make sure I’m actually solving the right problem: are you using a particular WordPress plugin to add CKEditor?

In reply to: [Mammoth .docx converter] Plugin not working with Custom Post TypeClosing since the latest version should support custom post types so long as they support the WordPress editor.
