Yes! The issue was the new Jetpack settings for infinite scrolling. I turned those off and now all the posts render when queried by category and tag. It means the posts don’t load automatically and one has to click on an arrow to load more posts, but at least they are all showing up now. Thanks! Michael

PS I am having similar issues with Boardwalk, the parent theme for Cubic. It seems to not render some posts in category even when selected.

PS and even more puzzling, some of the posts with two category selections render perfectly in one category but not in the other! For instance,

https://www.michaeljkramer.net/are-you-experienced-jimi-hendrix-the-countercultural-politics-of-the-uncategorizable/

Renders fine in

https://www.michaeljkramer.net/category/the-republic-of-rock-blog/

but does not appear in the other category for which it is selected

Any notion why this is occurring?

I am adding to this thread with the hopes that the problem here helps explain an issue with my WordPress install using Cubic theme. I have a set of posts from a particular date range (mid 2017) that do not appear on the results generated by category or tag. For instance:

https://www.michaeljkramer.net/when-offstage-goes-off-track/ is a post that renders fine. It shows up in a search query. BUT despite being in category Culture Rover – Promiscuous Cultural Criticism, it does not render: see, https://www.michaeljkramer.net/category/culture-rover/. It should show up between the posts Hug It Out and Journeys to Big Rock Candy Mountain, but it doesn’t.

Similarly, it does not render under the tag query https://www.michaeljkramer.net/tag/dance-culture/.

There is a set of posts displaying this behavior. They are published, render fine as posts, and are linked to the proper category and tag, but do not appear on the front end when the category or tag is queried.

Any advice? Is it a plug in issue? Permalink issue? I’m confounded.

I think I figured it out. There was some kind of conflict between jetpack mobile and cubic mobile. I turned off jetpack mobile and now the infinite scroll works. Thanks!!

Infinite scrolling works great with Cubic on Mac and iPad, but I only get 7 posts when I generate a return from a category (example on iPhone here: issuesindigitalhistory.net, which forwards to https://www.michaeljkramer.net/cr/category/issues-in-digital-history). Looks lovely with infinite scrolling on desktop or iPad, but only generates 7 results on iPhone. Hmm, can’t figure out why? Any hunches anyone? Thanks!
