on inspecting the web page it says “(index):49 Uncaught TypeError: $(…).selectric is not a function”

i tried that at 1.8, and still had issues with the calendar date picker, under IE browser the date picker does not display month at all, under Chrome date picker is shifted to behind Time field.
Switching to other themes on the widget i would see the widget does not display at alli manually went back to 1.7, and it is working again, is there any security issue being at 1.7 vs 1.8?

any thoughts on what to look for?
i tried changing the default theme to 2016, removing all plugins except the event calendar, removing custom css, and it was still the wrong day highlighted yesterday.I also cleared the cache with the cache plugin before removing it.
