The Settings> Reading doesn’t mention anything about setting pages. It just shows how many posts, items, and whether of not I want full, or summary text, and the character encoding.

No that doesn’t do it. When I click on a tag it takes me to a post on my own blog.

I wonder if I did something when creating the child theme?

I have a Mac, and I use MAMP, it’s very simple, and easy to install. If you belong to Lynda.com there are several very good movies that will take you step by step through the installation.

I think that’s what I want. I just want to have the ease of use for my static pages as I do with my WP blog.

Right now when I load the static page https://moderntimes.com I’m directed to the home ‘index.html’ page. Can I do this if ‘index.php’ resides in the same folder as ‘index.html’, I think that’s what I’m having a problem with.

The other pages do not,except color and background look like the blog. When I make the ‘new’ pages, do I need another data base? This is where I’m totally confused. I want to make a ‘home’ page with a link to the blog, I don’t know how to resolve the ‘index’ issue. I don’t know if I’m even making sense.
