    Thanks’ for replying. What I saw was the network setting that allowed you to set one or the other then go away after you made your choice and give to the php and htaccess lines to add to your files. Siteground does not give you this option if you want multisite it is sub-directory or nothing unless you know that you can change it in the php file. When I installed it as a single site added the line to turn on multisite then I got the page asking me which I wanted to use directory or domain as I wanted sub-domain not sub-directories
