In reply to: [WP-SimpleViewer] WP-SimpleViewer not working with WordPress 3.0.1yes i read your post, but i guess i got mine to work, i know previous galleries do not work, but i simply easily recreated them since they were already organized into folders i added those to the media library tagged them to the post and created a new gallery and its working for me. i recreated the galleries with the old images

In reply to: [WP-SimpleViewer] WP-SimpleViewer not working with WordPress 3.0.1the plugin has been completely redisigned, old photo albums need to be recreated using the new instructions, and then i got it to work. With in the post use the wordpress media upload and upload the images, put the caption for each of the images in the caption box for the images as you would for any other pictures in any other wordpress gallery you are creating, similarly put the pictures in the order that you want. then save setting (without inserting the gallery)
then click on the simpleviewer icon in the post to insert the gallery and set the pictures location source as wordpress (other option is flickr)
i had trouble with a few of them, the same rules apply as before regarding the types of images that can be used.
you must empty your broser cache to see changes in a gallery if you edit captions or other settings after inserting the gallery,
plugin still needs work to make this simpler but it can work.

In reply to: [WP-SimpleViewer] WP-SimpleViewer not working with WordPress 3.0.1ok i think i figured out, didnt understand you, i have to remake all of my galleries to get it to work.
i suggest you dont upgrade to the nexest version of the plugin yet v2.0.4. It is not compatible with the latest version of wordpress v3.0.1 and thus none of the galleries will work. so if your using the latest version of wordpress there is no point in upgrading the plugin

In reply to: [WP-SimpleViewer] WP-SimpleViewer and WordPress 3.0.1 didn't workonce again that is the issue? why tell us to upgrade to v2.0.4 which does not work with wp 3.0.1? this is the problem everyone is having

In reply to: [WP-SimpleViewer] WP-SimpleViewer not working with WordPress 3.0.1to “simpleviewer”
your message is contradicting, you say to use the latest version and then say the latest version v2.0.4 does not work with wordpress v3.0.1the fact that the lastest version v2.0.4 does not work with v3.0.1 is our issue that we are trying to resolve

In reply to: Permalinks not updating on the front end of WP siteany changes you make will be instant.
you can add a plugin to generate short URLsalso consider using the the default permalinks yourdomain/?p=post#
is shorter than using the post names.but you can get a plugin for even shorter permalinks that will remove your domain name from the URL (but you probably want to keep that)

In reply to: Pages are not updating when Update Button clickedyou can do an automatic reinstall of wordpress without uninstalling
with uninstalling you risk loosing all of your data if not properly exported and everything first. you can also just replace the files in all the folders (except wr-content) with the new ones (the manual upgrade style)i dont know if its the database or not, but i would only touch the database as a very last resort

In reply to: Moving and upgrading blog problemsthey may have been an index.html file in there by default and normally you replace this with your own when uploading a website (because wordpress doesn’t use html files), but since your using wordpress you didnt upload one. installing wordpress would not delete other files off of your server; that could potentially cause some serious problems for people.
since you have a new wordpress install, i bet this is your problem. with a new install i believe you need to import your previous posts and files.
or create the pages a new and then replace the files, or copy and paste the html content of the page over when you create it again.
esentially what i’m tyring to say is you didnt just move your files you have a new install of wordpress and it doesnt know to recognize all the old stuff.
