finally had my host look into it. for me, it was simply that wp-cron.php had wrong permissions. they set it to 644, and now it works great.

months of frustration for a very simple fix.

thanks branson for the info…although it didn’t seem to work for me. anyone else give it a try?

i’d like to also add attention back to this, as it worked fine for me before, and now does not as well on 2.5.1

deleting those directories did the trick. thanks for thinking basic for us. i used the automatic upgrade plugin, and something about using that must have messed this up.

the wp-content folder had the wrong permissions.

it should be wp-content/themes/

right?

new style.css didn’t change anything.

different themes didn’t change anything either. even tried wordpress default

they all show up broken in my presentation tab. so it seems to be a problem with all of them.

is there maybe a file that in some way grabs the images from them that could have the wrong permissions (i’m totally ignorant and just taking stabs in the dark)

i think i’m going to try and re-upload the fasttrack style.css and see if that helps.

I had it set to 777, and just tried 644.

both seemed to keep giving me the same error

i’m stuck on the whole “delete everything WP” thing…does that mean i just wipe out all files in my wordpress folder on my remote server? that would include images i’ve uploaded, etc?

Or can i just dump the new files on top of the already existing ones and have my ftp client replace them?
