Using with wp 5.0.3.
Seems to be working fine for me.Thank you. Yes. Safe mode good.
How do I re-enable it?
That was the original question, in this thread.
I don’t think you’ve answered it.Got turned off, how do I turn it back on?
I turned on staging mode, since Safe Mode got turned off, and I couldn’t find out how to re-enable it.BTW – your link doesn’t seem to provide any answers. Phantom anchor?
Hi Stef,
Does Staging Mode = Safe Mode? If not, how does one return a site to Safe Mode.
Thank you.
Dynamic sitemap creation is a great feature, except it makes it easy to inadvertently show everything to every search engine.
Seems the Jetpack plugin would benefit from offering easy control of such functionality through the UI.
Pretty sure there are a lot of people that see ‘automatic sitemap’ and think ‘cool’, without realizing they are inadvertently announcing every page / post on their site to every search engine, even development pages with development titles.
It makes perfect sense for Jetpack to obey the ‘noindex’ settings. Jetpack ought to allow users to create a ‘don’t show list’ or a don’t show flag. Otherwise, ‘noise’ from pages and posts that aren’t relevant sitemap overwhelms the Given the custom tweaking necessary to disable that… seems like something that can create problems, and a lot of extra work (redirects, spurious ‘not found’ errors from Google Console.)
There’s no good reason for the sitemap feature to broadcast pages so indiscriminately.

In reply to: [Nobs ? Share Buttons] buttons-for-website.comThe linked-to article below might help provide a ‘bigger picture’ understanding of what’s going on with spammy traffic sources like this. Even if seeing this useless traffic doesn’t cause you to visit the offending site (Danger Will Robinson!) it still takes away server resources (perhaps not to a ‘lose sleep at night’ degree). Therefore banishing them from the server could be pretty useful (though if you bannish an excessive number of sites doesn’t that use some resources too?
This fake traffic can be pretty confusing if you’re new to Google Analytics or some other tracking and reporting source and haven’t figured out how to exclude these sources from your reports.
Hope this helps.
