In reply to: [Comments - wpDiscuz] Use in conjunction with a blog subscription pluginJust to follow up, I’m considering using this plugin for my subscription emails (I only want to email members, so it’s not a mailing list as such):

And still use wpDiscuz for comments subscription. Should I be ok running these together?

In reply to: [Media Library Assistant] Table of videos w/ title, desc , tags, lengthTurns it it was very easy, using:
[+meta:length_formatted+]
David your plugin is genuinely an incredible achievement, I’m only just scratching the surface but it is obviously extremely powerful. With a bit of spit and polish, you could wrap this up into a premium product, and reap rewards for your work (I will be making a donation, mind!).

In reply to: [Media Library Assistant] Table of videos w/ title, desc , tags, lengthThank your for the response David, very useful indeed! What great support.
Regards the video length, I see this in Attachment Metadata for the mp4 videos I am uploading:
array ( 'filesize' => 55498918, 'mime_type' => 'video/quicktime', 'length' => 75, 'length_formatted' => '1:15', 'width' => 640, 'height' => 480, 'fileformat' => 'mp4', 'dataformat' => 'quicktime', 'audio' => array ( 'dataformat' => 'mp4', 'codec' => 'ISO/IEC 14496-3 AAC', 'sample_rate' => 48000, 'channels' => 2, 'bits_per_sample' => 16, 'lossless' => false, 'channelmode' => 'stereo', ), )
Any way we can pull that “length_formatted” to output?

In reply to: [Notifications] Finally, a decent notification bar plugin!Yes exactly, to both! So if you had a message that was too long (or doesn’t even have to be too long really), it could scroll across the bar from right to left (and repeat if wanted). If you had multiple notifications set up, it could automatically scroll through them from right to left, then you’re entering into proper “news ticker” territory. I guess there will be some jquery out there that could do all of this?
Most importantly is not to lose the great sleek design and function it has already, though. So this scrolling idea could just be toggle options in the settings area.
This is all a bit above my head… will this fix my problem where Admins can’t see the user list on the root network blog?

In reply to: [User Role Editor] [Plugin: User Role Editor] User List hidden from AdminsVladmimir, I think what he means is that users given the Admin role on the Network home blog (not just admin on their own sub-blog) can not see the user list for the network. It says:
“No matching users were found.”
With the plugin activated, only Super Admins can see the user list. With the plugin de-activated (i.e. back to default WP MS setting), Admins can also see the complete user list for the whole network. It would be good if this issue could be fixed, because I need my admins to be able to manage all users of the network.

In reply to: Multi-site Not Working in 3.3I’m too scared to update my WordPress multisite 3.2.1 to 3.3 because of this thread. Any news on this problem? Are others experiencing the same?
Well, I’ve been using Networks for WordPress for the last 4 months or so, and it’s perfect… I’ve not had any trouble at all, and my client sub-networks are running really nice and smoothly. The plugin has some more advanced functions to it, which I find helpful.
If the core functionality of these plugins is built on a “hidden” core functionality of WordPress, and all the plugins pretty much work the same, I guess that suggests that no matter what plugin you use, there shouldn’t be any problems in the future. Unless, I guess, WordPress decide to scrap the functionality in the future?
By “parent network”, I mean the very top-level master network… so if you use this plugin on a sub-network, you get hundreds of blogs from the top-level network that have no relationship to the network you are on.
nearlyjen, any chance you could explain what you did here, including code snippets, to fix this? I’m also using this plugin for a school multisite setup, and we seem to be encountering similar queries ??
Add me to this request as well. This is rendering the plugin useless to me, as all of the blogs on my network are school / classroom blogs, most of which use “no search engine” privacy.
I’ve just realised that I can let logged-in users create sites through the frontend way (www.sub-network.co.uk/wp-signup.php) and it works fine ?? So ignore this, but maybe it’ll help others!
My users are teachers, many of them not very IT literate, so I’m trying to make my system as easy and user-friendly as possible! I’m also worried about their reactions to the donation bit in your plugin, because a lot of my users pay to use my system already, and they can be a very cynical lot. Really, there’s just no need for me to give them BWP GXS options, but I guess if they don’t know what it’s all about then they won’t touch it so no massive problem, but it might be a cool feature for in an update to give Super Admins the option to hide this from users?
Me again!! I noticed that my users have the BWP GXS options in their wp-admin for their sub-domain sites. Is there anyway I can hide it from them?
