Sorry it took this long to respond to your last post – it’s been wildly busy around here.
I followed your last instructions..
go to Dashboard->Plugins->Editor and select wp jscrollpane.
on the right hand side you will find two files, wpjsp.js and wpjsp.css. those two files need to have stuff in them for it to work. and it writes those files when you hit save. Both were empty.
Here’s a short screen capture movie showing what I did and what I found.
Thanks for all your kind help on this.
-TimothyWait a minute..
I just discovered that the WP DB I thought was being used for the active site, is not the one I looked in.Here’s what I found..
https://jing.videvent.com/2011-04-03_2141.mp4Actually – it’s a 3 minute movie – sorry about that.
Let me show you what I found when looking for the items in the mySQL tables for my active install of WordPress on my server (a 2 minute movie) ..
https://jing.videvent.com/2011-04-03_2125.mp4Thanks so much for sticking with me on this.
I keep seeing cpanel mentioned everywhere.
I’m on a Mac, and I think that’s a PC thing yes?I’m on my iPad right now, and have to get on my Mac.
I’ll submit this, and then check the mySQL – I don’t use PHPMyAdmin, but I have a mySQL editing client which I use instead. I’ll check it out an get back to you.Thank you – but unfortunately removing the dot from <div class=”th_sp_intDesc”> didn’t work.
Here’s the page I’m testing on..
https://www.swing-thing.com/?page_id=818I just thought I would try including a height attribute to the div tag, thinking that might trigger the scroller; but that didn’t do it either.
Hey – I just figured it out on my own.
For other’s, here’s what I did.
In the mySQL dump – I used BBEdit to find and replace all instances of..
“swing-thing.com” with “wordpress.videvent.com”
And then, because the dump file would have entries in it that would read “www.wordpress.videvent.com” – which would not resolve – I then did another search and replace for “www.wordpress.videvent.com” and replaced those with “wordpress.videvent.com” as well.
And then, because the dump file still had some instances of left over, I did one last search and replace, looking for “swing-thing” and replaced all those with wordpress.videvent”.
After that, I made similar search and replaces in the site files – BBEdit has the ability to search an entire set of folders with nested folders, and can search and replace “swing-thing.com” with “wordpress.videvent.com”, and then again “www.wordpress.videvent.com” with “wordpress.videvent.com” just to be sure.
I then deleted all the new MySQL tables, and re imported the now updated MySQL dump file to recreate the tables.
And it worked.
Now, I have an exact clone of my site that I can work on without affecting my live site. I can, for example, now delete the old shopping cart and replace it with another; I can fix any php hacks, and try to bring the development copy back to the way it should be – and use plugins to control my main navigation bar, the way I should have in the beginning – had I known how back then (which I didn’t).

In reply to: [Search Engine] [Plugin: Search Engine] Indexing times outWell – rather than wait for your reply to my last question, I’ve email you a download link to my Apache2 Access_Log – I hope this is what you wanted?

In reply to: [Search Engine] [Plugin: Search Engine] Indexing times outSure – you want the Apache Log?
I can use Console’s matching filter method to try and isolate your indexing process; what search string should I use?Forum: Plugins
In reply to: [Search Engine] [Plugin: Search Engine] Indexing times outHere’s my phpinfo page – which should help in that regard.
The site is hosted on my own server, on a Mac, running Apache.
The site itself has a shopping cart with a couple of thousand items in it.
In the Search Engine’s back office, using the Wizard’s advanced settings, I tried setting the depth to 1, and also tried setting the URL masking to ignore anything with a URL containing a question mark, like this..
https://www.swing-thing.com/wp-admin/admin.php?
This should have prevented it from traversing the shopping cart itself.
But neither approach seemed to help. The website is https://www.swing-thing.com
The following is the log produced when I try a search without masking or setting any advanced options.. NOTE: this is all I get before the timeout happens.

In reply to: WordPress won't update automaticallyI have the same problem –
My wp-content/upgrade folder has permissions set to 777 though, so that’s not the problem.I wonder what else I can do about it?
