An additional info. This ONLY happens when I enable showInfoPane=true in my plugin shortcode. If I set to false (not showing), there will be no js error.

I’ve gotten the same exact reply from Christian himself. Am not sure bout the hotlinking part, but what I figure is this; when I installed the live test server without resolving my domain name, somehow, it got stuck into reading the imgs from (e.g. https://IP_ADD/wp-content/…). After I resolved the domain name, the problem still exists. So I guess it wasn’t a domain name pointing issue after all.

So, what I did was to drop the DB, re-create the DB from scratch, reinstall WP and the plugin…….and then, it all WORKS now!! I guess I just breath new life into it simply by creating from scratch with the domain name well set up. I can’t pinpoint the exact cause of this; as in either it’s the DB or WP/plugin codes issue, but what I know is:
    1. Make sure you start on a server with a resolved domain name (e.g. don’t launch your test site with unresolved domain name, and work on it, pumping in pics and content…etc. Start work only with a running domain. Of course I managed to just recreate from scratch as it’s fairly new and unpopulated)
    2. Just to be safe, reinstall WP & SG gallery codes from scratch again.

    That solves it.

And for the record, I’ve seen (but haven’t tried, hence not in a good position to comment, but then…) many plugins for SG out there, and nothing beats Christian’s plugin. It’s easy to use, compared to others, which require you to read endless pages of instructions-simply pointless. But Christian, we would appreciate if you improve the instructions on your site by probably including some screen shots, as they’re aren’t that clear =) Anyway, keep up the good work and you’re the best!

I thought it was an unresolved domain issue. But even after I resolved the domain, it still doesn’t work. strange. Strange thing is, I have another exact installation of smoothgallery in the same server, whose domain name has been resolved. That works, but not this.

Hi hedonplay. Thanks for the reply. I’ve ensured that. Setting it to writable and the config.php’s thumbnails generation as “true”.

    but it’s still not working.

Thanks mercime. I’ve tried the plugin. It works fine. But I wonder if they allow a gallery set. Maybe that requires a certain degree of customisation to the codes. However, the instructions on christian schenk’s site, as reported, is unclear. Have to knock around a little.
    Thanks anyway…
