the error was being caused by Jetpack Gravatar Hovercards, which I deactivated.
Now, the popup still doesn’t load, and the error console shows the following error:
ReferenceError: Can't find variable: _popup_data
I have tried with the load popup using: set to all three choices, no change. It is currently set to load in footer.
bump
I’ve now tested this on multiple installs of wordpress. While I do have 1 domain where the plugin is still working, and I can edit the menu on that site, most of the other sites I am using this plugin are affected.
I even changed the theme to 2013 and 2012, and deactivated all plugins on my development install, but the appearance > menus page still will not show the list of menu items to edit, or allow new items to be installed, while the plugin is active.
It doesn’t seem to matter what theme is active or what plugins are installed.
I should note, this is happening on multiple sites after the most recent upgrade to wordpress core. I can’t edit any of the menus without disabling the plugin.
I have been having a similar problem using the Next Gen gallery. with iTheme Security’s .htaccess file in place, Nextgen can not upload. if you removed the .htaccess file, uploads are a breeze. Try it… just rename .htaccess to htaccess_old and try an upload.
I’ve had more back and forth with the developers of Nextgen, who believe that the conflict is with how iThemes Security writes the portion of the htaccess file that redirects the login URL.
Specifically, they said they didn’t understand why it was written this way, and how line 2 below wouldn’t cause conflicts with other plugins.
Here are the lines they said were causing the conflict. I’ve edited out the private details…
RewriteCond %{SCRIPT_FILENAME} !^(.*)admin-ajax\.php RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} !^(.*)url.com/wordpressdirectory/wp-admin RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} !^(.*)url.com/wordpressdirectory/wp-login\.php RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} !^(.*)url.com/wordpressdirectory/location RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} !^(.*)url.com/wordpressdirectory/locationb RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} !^(.*)url.com/wordpressdirectory/locationc RewriteCond %{QUERY_STRING} !^qmkjj0xqerhjkcygky4fi RewriteCond %{QUERY_STRING} !^action=logout RewriteCond %{QUERY_STRING} !^action=rp RewriteCond %{QUERY_STRING} !^action=register RewriteCond %{QUERY_STRING} !^action=postpass RewriteCond %{HTTP_COOKIE} !^.*wordpress_logged_in_.*$ RewriteRule ^.*wp-admin/?|^.*wp-login\.php /wordpressdirectory/not_found [R,L]
nope. I uninstalled this plugin and will be awaiting to hear back when it’s known to be compatible. Otherwise I’ll find a better security plugin. Been nothing but problems with this plugin since the name change.
In fact, I have removed the plugin and just left the htaccess file it creates in place. This htaccess file is what breaks the Nextgen plugin. ithemes security doesn’t even need to be active. Just the htaccess is enough to break it.
I have contacted Nextgen customer support, and they claim it’s an issue with iThemes, not their plugin.
after updating both the plugin and then doing the photocrati updates in the dashboard menu, things seem to be working.
unfortunately, somewhere during the process, it looks like several dozen galleries fell out of the album. I can put them back in but it’s odd.
I just updated and still have an issue. I have the pro version as well. The album loads, and I can then select a gallery, but then it fails to load individual photos.
this is making me look really bad in front of my bewildered client. The only issue his site ever has is with the next gen photogallery.

In reply to: [Recent Tweets Widget] Couldn't retrieve tweets! Wrong username?correction- I had put two tweets in the account but the author deleted them, so the plugin failed.
this does raise a valid issue though, it did not fail gracefully when it failed, it kept the rest of the page content from displaying.

In reply to: [Recent Tweets Widget] Couldn't retrieve tweets! Wrong username?I am having this issue as well.
When I first installed it on friday, I was able to use a set of keys to make it work for my own twitter account. But when I changed the data to my clients’ keys, this broke. I get the same error message, but it also doesn’t display the rest of the page content. just the error with the nav.
I read elsewhere that it does not work with standard galleries. I instead tried Royal Pretty Photo and this seems to work, although it adds pretty photo to the url once you click a button, which is lame for most purposes.
I could really use a fix for this, need to launch the site. Please advise.
interestingly enough, I was able to reactivate the redirect plugin and all is working smoothly right now.
very odd.
