Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Not able to add themes or pluginsI am not able to get into the phpmyadmin to see the files but for the old database it says .62 MB and the new one is .24 so I’m guessing everything is in the old one?
I am able to make new posts on the wordpress admin I just can’t re-add my themes and plugins. Also I tried adding plugins to my other blogs and they wont work either eventhough I haven’t had any problems with those.

In reply to: Not able to add themes or pluginsYes, I got an error message saying that the there was no WP- configure and something came up where I retyped all the database info and then it became a new blog. So I needed to get the backup.
I have not recieved a copy of the backup eventhough I was told one would be e-mailed to me.
I wish I could figure out how to fix it myself since it takes them forever to do something.

In reply to: Not able to add themes or pluginsI have never used their one click install. I have created all of my blogs by downloading WP and using the MYSQL info. Yes I have access to the MYSql and PhpMyAdmin however for some reason I can’t access the phpmyadmin on my computer but I am able to on the computer at the library.

In reply to: Not able to add themes or pluginsI was however advised by someone to start a new database and upload WP with that information. I don’t know if 1&1 put the backup in the old database or the new one or both. I e-mailed them to ask but haven’t gotten a reply.

In reply to: Not able to add themes or plugins1&1 doesn’t have a one click install. They have something where you can make a wordpress blog through them but it’s not fully customizable. I just use the information from the databases in the mySQL.

In reply to: Not able to add themes or pluginsMy webhost is 1&1 and my posts disappeared (I don’t know how) last week and so I requested a backup from them. I got my posts but not the theme and plugins that were there.
I am uploading to wp-content/themes and wp-content/plugins they show up in the folders on filezilla but not my administration so I can’t apply them to my blog.

In reply to: Not able to add themes or pluginsI just upload the themes and plugins to my filezilla and it wont show up in my wp-admin. My site blog had some problems and my webhosting company restored it with a backup. I don’t know if it has something to do with that. I sent an e-mail to them and all I got in the reply was “everything looks fine”.
