Thanks. That put the footer back in its place, but the sidebar image is still not showing.

But since I thought I might be misunderstanding you I went and put that line in sidebar.php as well and I have discovered the second problem – just don’t know the solution.

The sidebar is only as long as its content rather than content of the page so with nothing there – there is no space for the image to appear. I’d like the sidebar to tile as far down as there is content – different pages using this “look” will be different lengths. Is there a command for that?

Resolution – I had been editing the .php file using notepad. I went back to the original and edited using textpad instead (googled what to use to edit .php files) and now everything works again.

Okay, I tried putting the original file back (I had saved it) and it didn’t solve the problem, just meant the sidebar had a tag cloud instead of list (I’ve gone back to the revised now).

I really think the issue started when I deleted the stickied post. Any other suggestions?

Is there another way to make the Tag Cloud widget generate a Tag List instead of Cloud? I had to use the widgets as the Text Widget was the only way I could find to add the Photoshelter Archive Search code to the sidebar. (Had successfully edited the sidebar.php to generate a tag list instead of cloud, but couldn’t get the archive search to work – not sure if it was a conflict between that and the blog search code (wanted both), but widgets seemed to be the only answer.)

I cannot speak for the other posters, but this is now working fine for me.

I can’t drag & drop more than one widget into the sidebar. Whichever one is in there will work fine, but can’t drag more than one (different widgets – not trying to have the same one twice).

Okay, I’ve learned that I need to post the code into a text widget first and the search does work then, but if I add the text widget to the sidebar, the original sidebar disappears!

I’d like this search to actually appear in the middle of what I currently have (where the non-working search thing appears now on https://hockeyphotography.com/blog ).

I have a feeling that I’m missing something very simple, but so far haven’t come up with the correct way to phrase my question here or in google to come up with the correct “how to” answer.

Err – related question – not all of the tags are showing up in the tag list. Can’t figure out why some are and some aren’t.

For those that need a laugh – I am a huge blind eejit – I somehow missed the “sidebar” choice on the side to edit and was trying to edit the wrong thing. The code from the themelab link in my original post worked perfectly.
