Thanks, no there is no confirmation email and no error, and the email addresses do not show up in my account at all.
Thanks for working through this with me.
It was set to single opt-in and then I tried setting it to double opt-in as well. I still can’t re-subscribe through the plugin even with that setting.
When you signed up with your test email I also did not get a confirmation that I had a new subscriber (which I usually do get). But when I tried the +1 email I got the confirmation email both as the subscriber, and also as the list owner.
The last time I made a change to my optin process and wanted to test it out, I unsubscribed and then resubscribed through the plugin and it worked. So since it’s not working now I was concerned that meant it wouldn’t work for new subscribers either.
Also I always get an email notification when someone new subscribes but I didn’t get it when you subscribed with your test email. I did get it when I entered my own test email though.
So now I’m wondering if I just can’t resubscribe using the plugin but it does work for new email addresses?
Interesting. When my husband and I both tried unsubscribing and then resubscribing through the plugin, nothing happened. But I just added the +1 to my email address like you suggested and I got the confirmation email. In MailChimp the source for my +1 subscription is also listed as API-Generic.
Hi Pearl,
I did get [email protected] added to my e-mail list with MailChimp. However, the information tells me that you signed up through an “API – Generic”. Everyone else who has ever signed up for my website is listed as “Hosted Signup Form” or “Social Proxy for MailChimp”. Can you explain why your signups appear differently from my other subscribers? Did you actually sign up through clicking buttons on my website, or did you call an API from within WordPress?
I don’t think this is an issue with MailChimp sending me emails or not. When I use test email addresses to sign up for the list directly through my mailchimp signup form everything works fine. I only have problems when I use the plugin.
Thanks!
Thanks. I am testing with my own email address. So I unsubscribed from the list and tried to resubscribe with the plugin. I got the success message but nothing else happened. When I try to sign up directly through my signup form (not using the plugin) it works. Which leads me to believe that something isn’t working right with the plugin. Does that make sense?
I did already try disabling and reinstalling the plugin (as mentioned in my original post!). I’m not sure where to go from here!
Thanks, but I have a free account. So I have to pay to get this issue fixed?
Also, the subscriber never gets added to my list through the plugin either. So it’s not just that the confirmation email isn’t being sent, it’s that the signup isn’t occurring at all.
Hi Jasper,
I am using version 1.5.7 of the plugin
Settings: I have text for the header and subheader. Do you need the color settings? I have “Use JavaScript Support” checked and also “Use JavaScript Datepicker”. Not sure if that’s what you needed!
The plugin is on this page: https://www.melanienupp.com/. The signup form is also here (and it works here) https://eepurl.com/bSDUUL.
Let me know if that was everything you needed!
Thanks!
Melanie
