That was the issue. While Elementor Pro integration was activated, the Elementor integration was disabled. Thanks for the quick help.

okay, i found the answer..

when you first install this plugin and encounter the same issues do the following:

uncheck und check the following entrys in the settings:
Translate Categories
Enable categories translations.
Translate Tags
Enable tags translations.
Translate Attributes
Enable attributes translations.

after that is done you have to go into each of your products and save each exisiting product itself.
Now the product can be found in the categorys.
I guess, that after the plugin sets up the possibility to translate categorys, all products getting unlinked. With saving the product will again be linked to category.
