dunno if you still look for it, but I had the same issue today. ??
Install both comicpress and the comic easel plugin. Then you should see a new menu on the left side (admin panel) named “comics”. The very same one you use to upload comics.
The second last option of that menu “config” is where the nagivation style was moved to. The documentation seems outdated.
