In reply to: Custom HTML widget wont allow me to saveIt’s the same problem, not sure of the need to spread it out over multiple posts. I’m also not sure why posts get marked “resolved” when they’re not?

In reply to: Custom HTML widget wont allow me to saveJames, thank you for the code button info. I did make the changes that allowed me to save in the widget. However, I altered their generated code to do so. The link appears to work so hopefully it’s still valid. I would still like to know if there is a workaround that allows me to bypass WordPress ability to not allow me to save. This time it was minor changes that apparently did not affect the link working and tracking. However, there may be a time when it deems something I cannot change as not saveable and this would be a problem. Thank you for all your help.

In reply to: Custom HTML widget wont allow me to saveI fixed the errors and just saved it. Still would like it if the errors would show a warning but not prevent you from saving.

In reply to: Custom HTML widget wont allow me to saveSteve, The code is generated by the affiliate program. I don’t want to alter the code in case they come back and say I’m not eligible for payment because I altered their code.
James, here is what I’m trying to insert and the associated errors. See above for why I’m leery of changing it.
<a target='new' href="https://linksynergy.walmart.com/fs-bin/click?id=M7WVP53r80Q&offerid=223073.10006589&subid=0&type=4"><IMG border="0" alt="Wal-Mart.com USA, LLC" src="https://ad.linksynergy.com/fs-bin/show?id=M7WVP53r80Q&bids=223073.10006589&subid=0&type=4&gridnum=16" /><img src="//beacon.affil.walmart.com/affil/ttap.gif?affillt=4&affilwmls=M7WVP53r80Q&affilsid=0&affiloid=223073.10006589" /></a
Here are the errors preventing me from saving:
The value of attribute [target] must be in double quotes
The html element name of [IMG] must be in lower caseThe bigger issue is while I like being able to see any errors I should be able to save what I want. I don’t want a bunch of errors but in certain instances like this it’s not a game changer, it’s not breaking the page.

Turned off live traffic setting and everything is gone except ( –> ) which shows on my computer and phone in Firefox, Chrome, IE and Edge. If I turn live tracking back on all the text again shows on mobile.
Thank You. Got it! Appreciate the fast response.

Jeff,
I fixed it. I had a setting in another plugin that I believe was conflicting with WP Super Cache (trying to perform the same task). Thanks again for your help and the heads up on “javascript-errors-notifier”. I will be trying that. I’m very new to this it’s my first site but I’m getting kind of obsessed with making it work well.
Jeff, Thank you for your reply. I’d like to respond to several of your points. I did as you suggested and removed the link from the targeted loading box, cleared the cache and it still did not work. The link that was in the targeted load box was copied and pasted from the working page so it was not an error in the link and I tried this several times.
As far as “a lot of Java errors” I’d like to know what you scanned with so I could try. Every test I know to use comes back with around 5-8 JS errors and they all have to do with either my theme, Jetpack or Google. Not too much I can do with any of them. At least with my limited ability. LOL As of right now, I have a GTMetrix score of 94, A Google PageSpeed score of 92 on mobile and 94 on desktop.
The plugin did work at one time for multiple images so I know it’s something at my end but I’m really at my wits end trying to find it!
The cache plugin I use is WP Supercache and the performance plugin you mentioned is Above the Fold Optimization. Are there any known conflicts between those and USP?
Also, is it possible for you to post or email me the script and I will manually add it myself?
Thanks for your time and help,

In reply to: [Hemingway] Sidebar vanishedAll my pages have identical settings. Sidebars left and right etc. On one single page, the secondary sidebar does not show. It did show for over a month and I did not make a single change and one day it just failed to show. I have been over and over it and I am unable to find the problem. It does not show on any browser or on mobile.
I just started using Gravity scan last night and had the same result from a Wordfence scan. One other thing is the Gravity scan results show 40 Critical Vulnerabilities all related to old WordPress versions. Some of them dating back to version 3.4. When you expand the results Gravity suggests updating to the next version which is also out of date. I have the latest version 4.8 installed. My question would be, are there files from previous versions still on my site leaving my site vulnerable even though I have the latest version installed.
