I don’t see how. Your link refers to WP 2 RC3.
The problem I described is with WP 1.5.2
As I said in my original posting, it’s running fine with WP 2.0

The instructions for upgrading from 1.5 to 2.0 are straigtforward,
as are the instructions for upgarding from 1.2 to 1.5.

THERE ARE NO INSTRUCTIONS FOR UPGRADING DIRECT FROM 1.2 to 2.0

Perhaps in your world seeking to clarify this point is
making “such a scare”, in mine it is being careful and your
overely dramatic response appears to be both ironic and a little rich bearing in mind your posting history, which shows a repeated failiure to bother to read the documentation.

So perhaps it is simple and perhaps it is not. I don’t intend to play guessing games.

Can someone who is in a postion to give me a definitive answer please do so.

My question is can I upgrade direct from 1.2 to 2.0 and if so what

I can see documentation on upgrading from 1.2 to 1.5 and
documentation on upgrading from 1.5 to 2.0,
but nothing on upgrading from 1.2 to 2.0?

This is mission critical for me, so I’d appreciate a definitive
answer.

As I was putting in your code I noticed that there’s already an “alignright” class in the default style sheet which I wasn’t using (I was using align=’right’ instead…I’m just an old fashioned rabbi…). I tried it with your code (which does the job), then settled on the “alignright” class which also aligns the image horizontally with the top of the text.

You’re right, the modifications are all minor – mainly a different header, a sidebar for single posts and some different coloured links and a couple of plug ins.

BTW, you’re right about the padding. What code would you suggest (and where…in the style.css presumably?)

Nice one Moshu, you were spot on!!

I changed the style sheet and I did need to remove the ul tag before the get links tag, as well as the after it. It now displays perfectly in IE & Mozilla (there’s a first). The only problem I have now is that without the ul tags it does not validate as XHTML 1.0 transitional (with them it does, but does not display properly).

Any suggestions?

Naturally I’m going to backup my databse, but since I can’t afford to spend loads of time on this or have my site down for ages while experimenting, before doing anything, I really do need a definitive answer, which will also help anyone else with the same question.
