oh i have one other little issue with your plugin that i think should be fixed ,the activity that is posted with the “test user uploaded a new cover picture” can sometimes be way too big depending on the size of photo they upload to their cover! is there a way you can get the activity updates to auto crop to the same size shown on the cover photo on your profile? plus it would be great if you can choose from previous uploaded cover photos and avatars so the photos that are stored on the server can be used again. ??

You my friend are an absolute star for fixing these issues so fast :), i have just installed it and tested it and it seems to be working fine now, i will test it further with other plugins etc etc and get back to you if i run into any other issues , i will also leave you a good rating later especially for your fast support!! ??

hi again, no error message is displayed! plus all the photos ive tried are larger than 140px, and the default avatar does not show the wordpress default avatar shows, i have tested this over and over on clean instals with wordpress 4.1 and all default themes, plus it “BREAKS” buddypress @mentions features GO TRY MENTIONING SOMEONE AND YOU WILL SEE the auto suggest is not working with your plugin active, also the @mentions name is replaced in the cover photo with the users real name so noone knows your @mentions name when viewing profile, please take my word for this as for 2 days ive in stalled fresh installs of wordpress and databases and tested lots and lots of nthemes, maybe you need to do a fresh instal and test it out again?

if you have 2 users of your plugin telling you the same thing then you clearly have a problem somewhere that needs addressing with the plugin.

i thank you for your quick responses on these matters = good support, im sure this plugin will get to a useable level soon if you keep working on it at this rate :), i will test your new version in the next hour or so and get back to you.

+1 for this imath, this is well needed in buddypress and will make your plugin flawless! i mean if you could some way have a bowe code to filter friendships created or groups joined etc etc (you get the idea!) of just your friends rather than showing them for all sitewide users would be great!

Hi again, just to let you know ive tested again on fresh install of wordpress and buddypress with fresh databases on default theme and same problem is there when updating avatars it shows the refresh bar but then goes to default mystery man, i love the way you have added the drag on the cover photo, plus there is another problem the new version removes the @mentions name and replaces it with full name so noone can see what your mentions name is plus it also breaks using @mentions in the activitys.

ckchaudhary ty for this info, the step in part 1. is easy, i have added the code to functions.php into my child theme and have changed the label.

however im not sure what you mean with part 2. i have done the first steps, ive create the folder buddypress-global-search/loop in my theme and have copied the post.php into the loop folder but the problem is i dont understand this step

Edit this file and put the_post_thumbnail() etc.. That should work.

what should i edit? in the post.php there is this code

what do you mean by put the post thumbnail etc? can you give me a quik example? thanxs for all your help btw ??

bump, could you please help me out on this as i really could do with disabling one of the sidebars within my buddypress pages as with 2 sidebars everything looks a little squished, ty

OK i have just tried something out and i have got it working now, this may help other people who are looking at other various ajax plugins for their installs because i remembered just before i installed your plugin i was trying another ajax plugin but it didnt do what i wanted, so be cautious before installing to many other ajax plugins first and back up your databases, i cant remember the name of it now as it was a quik test install and uninstall, so i made a new test site and reinstalled your plugin on a fresh install and database and your plugin is working just fine, thought id better come back and let you know, whatever the other plugin left over is a mystery, but it was definitely the problem as that was the only other plugin i installed before yours.

also is there anyway to just show unread messages instead of seeing the ones you have previously read? or at least an option to delete the ones you have read?

Yes no problem kevin and thx for your rapid response, your plugin is a godsend for social networking capabilities that lets users post videos to the activity streams, as you can imagine in a scenario like this if a few thousand people was to post videos in the stream on a regular basis just how hard the server would get hammered even though they are being served externally the strain caused could be immense and the website would crawl to a halt eventually, without your plugin video embedding posting like this would not really be an option unless you was insane enough to let it and kill all hopes of scalability on buddypress (its a case of just because you can let users post youtube embeds, is it worth the performance hit! sort of thing), i emailed you not long back so you should have my email, dont worry there is no rush on my end but when you can get a version to me i will test it thoroughly for you.

HMM wiered, well im stumped then because for me this isnt the case, strange! its ok jeff ty for trying it out for me, im going to install wordpress with a fresh database and try again see if that helps, cheers.

@jturet it really doesnt matter if i disable it or not in global plugins or on a page to page basis or if its active on all pages ??
