Thanks for your direction. I have tried both solutions. The first did not provide any difference. The second seemed more complicated and because I was not seeing exactly as was shown I was very unsure about how to proceed. I think as soon as it gets to coding I am worried I am going to do more harm than good. I really appreciate your efforts and thank you for trying to help me. I think I will try and see if I swap for some other themes if I can rectify it myself. I know it’s supposed to be possible to do this without being an expert, but I reckon it’s just getting beyond my skill level. I have watched loads of different utube videos etc and read lots but still my problem persists. It might just be me MUPPET error. But thanks again for trying.

Thanks for your time. My site was migrated through wpbeginner.com I think they did it all properly. Even if I go into a post and select the featured image it does not appear on the post page. I am unable to even see an option in WordPress admin on the post page, which is were I should be able to select it to appear on every post. I have only tried one theme change, but it did not work.
