Thanks. Just a couple of follow up questions:
    a) so this will automatically pull reports by day/week/month etc. Can I have it scheduled to run a weekly AND a monthly?
    b) in our old export, it showed the User who submitted the form in one of the columns … this one doesn’t seem to, but we need that ability (it is our staff who use the forms and submit for each client they talk with, so we track number of submissions by user/staff member. Can this be done with your plugin?
    c) I’m not clear on the cost. Is it a one time price? And seems to show if different users .. not clear.

    Thanks for your response,

    Tdub

Hi Michael, I’m really hoping you get this (having a hard time finding way to get help). My company uses Contact Form 7 and have always used CFDB to export form data to an excel sheet. However, this past weekend we updated our WP to the most recent version (we were probably on pretty old version prior), and suddenly we can’t pull all form data! We need to basically go in and export each form separately! Please please please someone help! This is for our company and we have hundreds of forms, and need to be able to pull all the form data by month. Here are the instructions I’ve been using since you gave them to me a few years ago:
Go to the CFDB Shortcode page

    Select Export tab

    Select from Export File

    Go to From tab

Select the last in the list, * All Forms *

    Go to Rows tab

In the filter expression field, you can just type in something like:
submit_time>August 1, 2018&&submit_time<September 1, 2018 which would give you entries for August (note you should choose your end date as the day AFTER you want data for. So if I want up to the 15th, I need to choose the 16th as my end date).

click the link that is generated for you in yellow under Generated Export Link
. An export file should download.
Copy the link and save it somewhere for future use.

You can also: Switch to Shortcode tab
    Select Shortcode [cfdb-export-link]
Copy that shortcode and put it on a private page or post where you would like to go to click the link and create a download in the future

    PLEASE SOMEONE HELP! ??

Thank you so much for the reply sevenspark! I will give this a try. So you think with this, I can somehow put an instruction to validate the fields, and if there is an ampersand symbol, then it will show as error, so the person will need to fix it before submitting? Just looking at that plugins screenshots and description, it doesn’t necessarily show an option to “reject” a specified character in a field, I don’t think.

In a perfect world, I could put some piece of code in the form that would recognize and REPLACE the ampersand symbol if it is entered … but haven’t figured out how to do that just yet.
I have read some areas where you can “tweak” CF7 by adding additional code, and it referenced entering into .php file, but how would I get to that? Or is there different place you add code to make changes to the form?
Again, thanks very much for responding. This is driving me nuts ??

    Hi Michael,

Just wondering if you had any idea on why it just started doing this?
Like I said, it has pulled significantly more data than this in the past months.

I need to figure this out, as right now, we have to split up the reports when pulling, then try to combine them all in one excel sheet.
I can’t imagine I would have to move my site to a dedicated server just to be able to do this.

    thanks

    Hi Michael,
Thanks for the fast reply! I called my host provider Friday (HostGator) and I think they can only raise my php memory to 256, unfortunately. I think anything more than that, and they said I would need a VPS or dedicated server … which would be a really big pain with potential downtime of my site and risk (and expensive).
Know of any other ways that we may be missing? Like I said it is really strange. I’m only pulling half a months worth of data … when up until last week, I was pulling full months of data with no problems at all.

    thanks

Anyone? Like I said, when I go to the Knowledgebase page created, it shows blank (no categories and no articles). I get the feeling it is adding them when I add new articles, because the blank knowledgebase page seems to be expanding downward … but nothing visible.
    Please please help ??
    thanks

Thank you Michael. But how do I choose to export ALL the forms for that time period? The first box has a drop down to choose a specific form, but I have MANY that I want to export all at once (would take forever to do them individually)
I’ve never used the short code builder so I don’t know what I’m supposed to put in each of the field/boxes it’s requesting (a step by step for what I should ente in each section would be great ??
For example when it asks which fields I want to display or what rows I want to display, etc …. If I want ALL of them for that time period, do I just leave them blank and it defaults to all?
And then once I fill everything in … I don’t see a Submit button to activate the export.

Sorry, I’m definitely in the learning phase for this, though I have loved that I’ve been able to export using this plugin up to this point! Just haven’t mastered how to choose specific time frame ??

    Thanks for your guidance,

Hi and thanks very much for the replies.
I clicked on that link and it takes me to the Contact Form DB page to download it. That is already what I’m using now to export data. So sorry, I just realize I didn’t clarify that to begin with. I agree, I love the plug in to export … but I can’t figure out how to set it to just export for a specific time period (like say just June). It exports every form historically entered … which is a HUGE file to export each month when pulling my reports.
Do you guys know how to use ContactForm DB and pull data for a set period?

    thanks again!

    Sorry, Contact Form 7.

    Please disregard … solved!
The form had a different title than I thought, so it was further down in the export data ??
    Thanks!

That’s a great idea Michael. Do you know how to make a field hidden? That would definitely look better.

    thanks

    Hi Michael,

No worries, I found a work around ??
What I did was used the Generate Tag to add a new field. I used the Dropdown selection and called the field Form Name. Then I only gave it one option in the Dropdown (for example Contact Form ABC). Then on my next form I did the same thing, and put Contact Form XYZ. Etc…
By adding those new fields (with essentially a pre-populated selection, since there is only one choice in the dropdown), it now adds an extra column called Form Name, and I can now sort them once I export them all together!

There may be a better way to do this … but it worked for me, so I’m happy!

    Thanks again for your help,

Thanks very much Michael, that worked!
The only that is missing though, is nowhere in the exported file does it say which entry came from which form. There are no columns that show this.
How would I set it up so that it can identify in the exported file which entry was on which form?

Thanks again very much for such a quick response,
    TW
