    Hi @stephenorh

    Thank you for your message.

Did you test it with the IP address you posted? If so, the problem is that no valid SSL/TLS certificate is provided.

Do you maybe also have the possibility to test it with a normal domain and a valid certificate?

    Best regards

    Hi @gransart51

Thank you very much for taking the time to write a review.

Adding a scheduler to automatically update the sitemap is the second item on my TODO list for the Sitemap Generator, but I’m not sure when I will find the time to implement it.

Best regards and have a nice evening

    Salut @gransart51

    Hi @skcombs

You are probably using another Sitemap Generator and not this one. Thus posted in the wrong forum.

This one does not use the constant ddsg_language and is also installed under wp-content/plugins/mb-sitemap-generator/sitemapgenerator.php and not under the path you posted above.

    I hope this helps.

    Best regards

    Hi @giuseppegalliano

Thank you for your reply. I’m glad that it works now.

For what purpose do you need the separated sitemaps? I don’t understand how this should work because the default sitemaps search engines can process always requires a list of HTML pages with videos and images assigned to the HTML pages.

Thus if the generation of a video-only sitemap would be possible with the Link Checker, it wouldn’t be readable by search engines. Maybe we can find a solution for your problem once I understand for what you need the sitemap.

I will send you the new token within a few minutes by mail.

Best regards and have a nice vacation

    Hi @obsidianblade

According to the description, the Broken Link Checker checks your posts, pages, comments, the blogroll, and custom fields.

If the images are embedded in one of these content types, how do you embed them? Directly or via a short code? I’m not 100 percent sure, but I would assume that short codes are not checked.

Also if you load your images via JavaScript, it could be the cause of your issues.

    The paywall probably shouldn’t matter.

    Hi Giuseppe

Did you already had the time to try if the issue is fixed?

If it works, I will send you the new token valid for two years as promised.

    Best regards

    Hi Giuseppe

I just published a fix for the video issue and my test was successful. Can you try it again?

By the way, you might want to add bwg to the Query Params to Remove in the options of the plugin because one gallery uses bwg as timestamp and the timestamps should be removed from the links in the sitemap.

    Hi Giuseppe

Thank you for trying it again and your patience.

I had a deeper look at the issue now and the cause is a bug in a software library I’m using.

I’m not in my office today (Friday) and this weekend, but can work on a fix next week. I cannot guarantee that I get it done next week, but probably should.

I can offer you that I give my best to fix the bug till Friday next week and if I get it fixed, I would send you a new token valid for two years (instead of one as purchased) as a little excuse. If I’m not getting it done, I will refund your payment.

Would that be okay for you? If not, I can refund your payment immediately.

    Best regards

    Hi @giuseppegalliano

I had a look at the issue and your site uses JavaScript to view the videos, which is not supported by the Sitemap Generator currently. However, you have implemented a fallback for each video which the Sitemap Generator can handle and thus it should add the videos to the sitemap correctly.

In the logs I just see that there are many timeouts when the sitemap is generated. Can you try to set the number of concurrent connections in the plugin settings to 1 and run the Sitemap Generator again? Ideally this should fix the timeouts and the videos should be added.

When the generation has finished, you should see a timeout count in the stats, which should ideally be 0.

If you prefer a refund of your payment, please just let me know.

    Hi @yaskar93

I have sent you a new token by email.

The problem was that the purchase form expects you to enter just the domain, for example www.example.com, but you have entered https://www.example.com/ and so the validation failed. Because many users had the same problem in the past, the https:// is automatically removed during the token validation, but in your case, the final slash did make it fail anyways.

I will change the validation algorithm to also remove the slash in the future and thus make it more robust, but to fix this quickly you have to replace the token in the settings. Sorry for the inconvenience.

    Best regards

Sorry, I just noticed it today, thank you for changing the rating to more neutral three stars.

    Hi @sherylhohman

Thank you for your review. A two star review harms the Link Checker a lot, but I’m glad you didn’t go with one star because you see the use case for others.

It’s not entirely true that it doesn’t work with local dev sites because you can also make your local dev sites reachable from the Internet. It’s not a common thing and has some security implications, but it would be possible.

There is no standard or easy way to make the Link Checker work with local dev sites because it’s a rare edge case in my opinion. Probably everybody working with clients has a live dev or staging server. Also teams with two or more members very likely have a live dev or staging server.

I guess only solo website builders who build sites for themselves work exclusively in a local dev environment and I cannot invest the time to make the Link Checker work for such a niche as it is still a side project.

    Sorry for that.

Best regards and have a nice evening
    Marco
