In reply to: Cant login to site after 4.1 update.Had the exact same problem.
I downloaded a fresh copy of WP 4.1, and replaced the wp-includes/functions.php file. Everything seems to work now, though it’s still prompting me to upgrade.
It seems like there’s probably more to this error, and since multiple people are having the same issue I’ll probably wait to upgrade until some sort of fix is found.

In reply to: Fatal error after 4.1 UpgradeHad the same exact problem. I tried @rossmitchell’s solution and it worked:

In reply to: Posts page not using index.phpThanks stvwlf — that did the trick.
I was using home.php as the home page, so when WP tried to display the posts page, it used home.php, which takes precedence over index.php. I changed home.php to homepage.php, updated the settings, and everything works fine.
Thanks again!

In reply to: Posts page not using index.phpGreat idea — thanks.
It looks like it’s using my home page template (home.php) for the posts, even though I have the “Travelogue” page selected for displaying posts (Settings/Reading). (The Travelogue page, in turn, has “Default Template” selected under Template. The default template should be index.php, no?)
But it looks like the main problem is WP is using the wrong template file for displaying posts. Now what? I’m not sure how else to point WP to a specific file other than the Settings/Reading section.
Thanks so much.

In reply to: Icons greyed out on write a page or postWait!
When I then tried to visit https://www.subdomain.com it redirected me to https://www.mydomain.com.
Back into Settings: changed Blog Address to https://www.subdomain.com, but left WordPress address as https://www.mydomain.com/subdomain and it worked again.

In reply to: Icons greyed out on write a page or postI had the same problem. I had WP installed on a subdomain, and on the Settings page, had both the WordPress address and Blog address as https://www.subdomain.com.
On a lark I changed them both to https://www.mydomain.com/subdomain and voila! all the icons appeared. Not sure why it worked, but it worked.
Hope it works for you too.
