Sorry, I went by the email message of your text, which changed some of the characters. I have since edited based on your code here. The error messages have disappeared and I am able to log out and back in from the admin panel. Thanks, so much for your help. I will proceed to continue updates.

When I change the code I get this “Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘;’, expecting :: (T_PAAMAYIM_NEKUDOTAYIM) in /home/kyaccide/public_html/wp-includes/user.php on line 656” on the login page.

Also, on the second edit, is it all one line or should that occupy line 706 as well?

Thanks very much for your efforts in helping me. Unfortunately, I’m not a coder and I am unsure what you’re saying. I couldn’t begin to implement your suggestions.

My php is 5.5.52. I am stuck at wordpress 3.0.6.

If it required an update during those releases, then I’m pretty sure I did it. I have updated 4 times and only one do I remember not asking me for an update. When I revert back to 3.0.6, I do not have any problems. However, I have done what you suggested.

I then upgraded to the 3.1 and I get the same error issues.

Yes, I did all those steps and didn’t have a problem with upgrade until I tried to go from 3.0.6 to the next release. It asked to update the database every time on of those upgrades except 3.0.4 to 3.0.6 maybe.

When I log off, I get a white webpage with:

Warning: Creating default object from empty value in /home/________/public_html/wp-includes/user.php on line 657

And then a whole list of warnings:

If I downgrade back to 3.0.6, no warnings. When I review user.php line 657 it appears to have something to do with multiple blogs?

Well, I spoke too soon. Made it to 3.0.6, but I can’t find a release for 3.0.8. If I try to go to 3.1 from 3.0.6, I get the creating default object from empty value in wp-includes/user.php on line 657. When I log out of my dashboard, I get a whole computer screen full of the same error involving wp-includes/user.php on various lines.

Thank you so much. After following your directions, I was able to upgrade to 3.0, and have a better understanding of how to continue the upgrade process. Thanks again!

Yes, thanks for the reply. When I try to upgrade automatically, I get a download failed: moved permanently error and Installation failed error.

I think it has something to do with the update going from 2.9.2 to the latest, which is years later.

I get a similar error message.

Fatal error: Cannot redeclare register_mysettings() (previously declared in /home/kyaccide/public_html/wp-content/plugins/plus-one/plus-one-settings.php:36) in /home/kyaccide/public_html/wp-content/plugins/tweetily-tweet-wordpress-posts-automatically/tweetily.php on line 28

This is a plugin that adds Google plus one button. I am a new user who never had Tweet Old Post plugin.

I gave up on this plugin the same day I posted. Continuosly told me there was an error posting to Facebook, but it would show up on timeline. When I tried to enable the subscription button it would tell me I needed authentication and wouldn’t enable it, and finally the login to comment using your Facebook ID never would format correctly. It would show up on top of sidebar widgets.

The like button was the only thing that appeared to work correctly. I just use the twitter to Facebook and feed all my posts to twitter which feeds them to my Facebook page. Maybe in the future they will work the bugs out, but this is the most complicated plugin I have ever dealt with.

Disabled Yoast “Add OpenGraph meta data” box as suggested. Tried to post and got the following message.

    Failed posting to BRUTSCHER LAW OFFICE’s Timeline. Error: {“message”:”(#100) caption parameter cannot be longer than 1000 characters.”,”type”:”OAuthException”}

I’m assuming this has something to do with the Photo caption. But it’s just another pain with this plugin. Might want to prompt me or mention this before I post.

Put in some dummy instructions into the box and clicked submit. Now pending.

Posted and after enabling seemed to work.

But when I reenable Yoast SEO plugin, get the same URL error. That being said, it still posted to my Pages, even with error saying it could not. Don’t intend on deactivating Yoast SEO plugin, so I’ll just see how it goes.

Thanks, yes I thought that might be what was causing the URL problems.

I no longer get the error message when I post. However, when I go to submit the app, I get the following: “Missing Reproduction Steps”. When I press continue, I get “Insufficient Reproduction Steps.”

I looked at the plugin webpage prompt and don’t see anything about these prompts.
