In reply to: [Yoast SEO] choose the default image for linkedinHello @estevecom
Thanks for using the Yoast SEO plugin. The image you want shown when you share on LinkedIn should be uploaded as the social image to the social tab of the Yoast SEO meta box. You can also test the outcome in the LinkedIn Post Inspector – see screenshot is what’s currently showing.

In reply to: [Yoast SEO] Yoast gone to split screenHello @jeremydsmith
Thanks for ewaching out. There’s a?reported issue?with the block editor where the meta boxes under the content can be pushed to the sidebar, sometimes accidentally. In short, the under-content and sidebar list of boxes appear to be a single list. Due to the sidebar setup being stored per user and browser, we cannot fix this for your account.
Please follow this guide on moving the sidebar meta box back under the content. If you get stuck at a step, please tell us the step number and provide us with a screenshot of what you see so we can better assist you.
- Go to the add new post screen.
- If the sidebar?DOES NOT?show ‘Post’ and ‘Block’, click on the gear icon next to the ‘Publish button’.
- Click the kebab three-dot menu.
- Click on ‘Preferences’.
- Under ‘Panels’, check ‘Custom fields’ and ‘Yoast SEO’.
- The page should refresh, and you will see a ‘Custom fields’ section below the content and above the ‘Document’ line. You may have to scroll down to see the ‘Custom fields’ section.
- You will see a ‘Yoast SEO’ section in the sidebar (while the gear icon is selected). You may need to scroll down in the sidebar or minimize some areas.
- Click the up arrow ‘^’ next to the ‘Yoast SEO’ section. The meta box will move from the sidebar to the under-content area.
- Click the arrow on the right side to expand (if minimized) the Yoast SEO section.
- You may disable the ‘Custom fields’ section using the above steps that enabled it.

In reply to: [Yoast SEO] Crawl Optimazation Setting and robots.txtHello @123nadav
Thanks for using Yoast SEO.
When you install WordPress without having Yoast SEO, WordPress generates a virtual?robots.txt?file at /?robots=1. Once you install Yoast SEO, we hook into the dynamic file, and you can use our file editor tool to create a static robots.txt file at /robots.txt.
However, some directives from our crawl optimization settings are added to the virtual file instead of the static one.?It’s currently on our product roadmap to revisit our?robots.txt?implementation.?I apologize for the confusion.
In the meantime, please copy the contents of the virtual file to the static file so you have the same directives in both since it’s the static file you can validate in the robots.txt tester in Google Search Console.
Let me know if you have follow-up questions.

In reply to: [Yoast SEO] Error with Sitemap and Google Search ConsoleI’m sorry it took a while to respond. Looking at the
hreflang
attribute, I saw the IT version is the main homepage while the EN is one of the translations. It’s unclear why the slug field for the /?lang=en is blank as that’s usually the case for the main homepage, which is in the page sitemap already. We’d have to investigate further on this as it could be something specific to your setup, but we are unable to do so over these public forums. You might want to consider Yoast SEO Premium for personal premium.

In reply to: [Yoast SEO] My site was removed almost completely from GoogleHello @gad123,
Thanks for reaching out. I’m sorry to hear that Google removed your client’s site from search results. Accordinng to Google’s documentation, “Crawled?– currently not indexed” means the page was crawled by Google but not indexed. It may or may not be indexed in the future; no need to resubmit this URL for crawling.
Temporary processing error – this doesn’t mean your sitemap has an issue. It could be an issue on Google’s end. Also, the status you see in Google Search Console isn’t real-time
No referring sitemap detected – it means Google detected the page elsewhere and not through the submitted sitemap. The page may have been crawled long before you submitted the sitemap since sitemaps aren’t the only way Google finds pages on your site.
Please read about Google’s core algorithm update and how it may impact your site indexing and ranking.

In reply to: [Yoast SEO] The Yoast SEO menu in the WP dashboard does not appearHello @isamero65
Thanks for using the Yoast SEO plugin. In WordPress > Plugins > Installed Plugins, deactivate and delete Yoast SEO. Next, search for it in?WordPress > Plugin > Add New, install it,?and activate it.
Does the issue persist afterwards?

Thanks for using the Yoast SEO plugin. We don’t have a feature in the plugin or hook to share that allows you set the primary product category in bulk.

In reply to: [Yoast SEO] Issue with homepage descriptionSince the meta description you added in Yoast SEO is in the page source, the issue isn’t with our plugin but Google.
I recommend posting a question in the?Google Search Central Help Community?for further assistance.

In reply to: [Yoast SEO] I can’t pin on Pinterest – maybe Yoast DEO problem? If the issue happens when Yoast SEO is deactivated, our plugin isn’t the cause of the issue.
Anyway, I tested with /schweizer-roesti/ and I don’t see the Pin It button/icon on the images. Maybe I misconstrued what you’re trying to achieve. How are you pinning rich pins and got the error?

"name":"Jannie ?stergaard"

refers to the homepage specifically, and that name is the value in the SEO title field.Do let me know if you have follow-up questions
