Having problems with get_post_count() and get_comment_count():

produces:

Being anonymous: yes, that’s a deliberate thing. Once I get the “about” page back up, it’ll explain this, but I used to have a blog under my given name, and my employer found out about it and had a melt-down, saying that our competitor could use the things I said against our company. So, rather than stop blogging or start self-censoring, I closed down that blog, registered this under a proxy and reopened under the pseudonym ‘Thinks Too Much.’
White space between posts: yes, I’ve been meaning to get around to fixing that, but if I increase the margin-top it’ll start with the first post and if I increase the margin-bottom it’ll leave too much at the bottom post. Also, I has thinking about some sort of divider between posts, but the same problem applies. I’m sure there’s a solution, I just haven’t found time to look for it (yet.)
Font size/lack of color: yes, I’ll be adding the capability for each reader to choose fonts, sizes, colors and backgrounds. I’ve already got the overall background part working, I just don’t have the form available. To see what I mean, enter https://www.maybeithinktoomuch.com?newcolor=AAAAAA where AAAAAA is the hexadecimal color you’d like for the background.
Permalinks: yes, I’d forgotten about that. I don’t like having the title as a permalink, so I changed that part of the template. I need to add it along with the comments/trackbacks/catagories somehow. Yet another thing to do…

The problem that I have with pro designers contacting me by e-mail is that I’d quickly disregard it as SPAM.
While WordPress is still in its infancy, I’d appreciate any recommendations from other WP users of designers who do good work as well as those to avoid.
