Problem came back. But after deactivating / reactivating Caching it’s alright again. Issue with a workaround…

I’m using WP Super Cache.
Doing nothing results in an error (XML not allowed in line 1… etc.), but after deactivating Super Cache I get this:

<nextgen-gallery>
<stat>ok</stat>
<version>1.9.2</version>
</nextgen-gallery>

(First line is missing.)
And indeed, it works as usual. Now I can insert images and galleries.

After this I reactivated Super Cache again. Caching is On and the output stays the same AND NextGen still works fine.

I check your site and found out that not only your picture width is 1050 px wide, but you also managed to make the width fixed.
How did you do that?

The dutch translation is already coming soon here.
In the mean while it seems that the 2.8.4.-translation seems to work, at least for most of it.
I restored and wait a few days until 2.9-translations are ready…

My GD is 2.0.28, but depends on PHP which is 5.1.6 on my side.
PHP allow URL fopen is a part of your php.ini. It ‘s used to allow outside sources to be used in your programs.
It’s worth a try. But can’t you also compare these settings with your other (less important) PHP5 server?
And if you are hosted, ask them to upgrade it all. Also it’s up to your web hosting company to edit php.ini in most cases.

Mysql and PHP versions are mentioned in the minimum requirements and that should be no problem.
The first error concerns WP’s shortcodes.php, not from the plugin.
The second error (gd.thumbnails.inc.php) concerns a simple formula which ends by a division by zero, and that’s weird.
I’m using newer versions of PHP, and besides of that my “PHP Allow URL fopen” parameter is ON (your’s is OFF), but that’s only a guess.
What’s the version of GD in your graphics library?

I agree that this way ‘fits’ in your gallery style in combination with the theme you’re using.
I already considered to work like this, but the disadvantage to me is that it does not fit in the rather minimal theme that I use. Meaning no sub menus for instance. So this will be a kind of workaround.
Never the less… NG is ok or should I say the best of all gallery plugins so I will work my way out. ??

In addition: I overlooked an option in Robots Meta.
You can Disable/Enable Archive settings for the author or date-based archives.
Completely solved!

Unbelievable. It had nothing to do with my theme.
I deactivated all my plugins (not so many) and after reactivating ‘m one by one, I found that the Robots Meta 3.0.6 caused this.
That’s the one I installed last week.

Don’t know… Guess I post this issue at the plugin homepage (yoast.com).
