Athena and Smartcat has abandoned its users. You will not get a response from support. Time to give it up and move on.

@mhollimc Hi, not sure if this will help, honestly, as i’m not a WP nerd…just a photographer who does his own sites.

I was also using BB and had built out two sites using it. The majority of the work had to be rebuilt from scratch using the new WP Gutenberg method of blocks. Some of the blocks could be converted. Some could not.

I have been told BB works with this new WP setup…but I have not had luck and get the same warning. I’ve given in to the WP Gutenberg blocks. They’re pretty limited compared to BB from what I can tell.

I’ve been assimilated.

i just started a new theme Otography. i realize this is a wordpress issue not theme issue. this is the first time in months i’ve had to work on my websites and now i’m experiencing this issue.

i’ve made the settings adjustment as suggested – no luck.

i’ve deactivated any possible plugins (beaver builder) since this WP version seems to have its own blocks. – no luck.

help?

and no, i’m not a web designer. just a photographer and educator needing to maintain his own websites.

help appreciated.

If I’m understanding this you only need the site as it is for 25 more days?

I think that would work…I’m not positive. I’ve seen other posts about going backward with the version of WordPress, too.

@christian734ac i abandoned the theme since any fixes I did only seemed to last so long. there is no hope for this theme and trying to get it to work is ultimately a waste of time.

One thing I learned on menus when viewing on mobile is that you have to touch the arrow next to the menu title. The title itself is not an active link.

Secondly, Athena and its users appear to have been abandoned and none of us (in these related forums) have been able to get any response from the company or its principles.

BTW…I did just go to the theme page and report it (and the company).

The company is still accepting payments.

Any attempts to reach principles in the company fail (I know myself and one other person have researched deep enough to find these people on LinkedIn and other sites).

I have reported this theme once before and would like to see WP remove this theme and the company entirely.

briantremblay…appreciate the update and this matches my experience of finding key people who used to work there with no more info than that.

i think it’s wrong the site still accepts payments and wish WP would shut it down.

curious what theme you moved on to.

By the way! I just looked at the demo page for this theme and it is also broken!

Ridiculous.
And the company still has a check out to purchase this and other themes.

I did report them to WP though that is like yelling into the Grand Canyon.

Changingfacez…I found the same thing. I even attempted to contact two people whose sLinkedIn profiles listed Smartcat and got no reply from them. It’s a dead company. I’m spending today making a decision on a new theme to fix both my websites.

My only suggestion to all of you using Smartcat is to abandon it and find something new.

I’ve been playing with Otography though I haven’t committed yet. I’ve never received a reply to any queries to Smartcat…that includes reaching out to key players directly through sLinkedIn.

I’m a photographer and photo educator so the idea of Otography seems to be working for me and has transferred reasonably well.

I had the migrate helper installed and it was working. As of today it is not working. Haven’t had a chance to dig into this further…but…the end of this theme is still at hand. :/

I don’t think so. I researched as far as I can. I can not find the company or any of its principles. I looked on sLinkedIn, Facecrook and other sites and there is nothing about the company anywhere.

We all got left hanging.

I’m trying to decide if I’m ready for a new theme and having to rebuild two websites. :/

All indications are that Smartcat has disappeared and left all of us users in a lurch. I’ve found no evidence this company exists anymore.

Every bit of research I’ve done indicates the company is defunct. I’ve not received a response to my service ticket that I filed weeks ago.
