Hi @rustykins,
Thank you for your message.
It would be best if you just check it. If the images are added to the Media Library then such an image should be optimized automatically. If they are not added to the Media Library, then you can activate the option “Convert automatically images from custom directories” in the Advanced Settings tab in the plugin settings panel – this should solve any problem with automatic image optimization.

In reply to: [Converter for Media - Optimize images | Convert WebP & AVIF] Delete pluginHi @gtcrea,
Thank you for your message.
Now I have purchased a Premium plugin to convert images to both webP and AVIF so I intend to uninstall your plugin and install the Premium version of the new one to also use the AVIF functionality.
You don’t have to uninstall the plugin – just activate the access token in the free version of the plugin. That’s all.
Best,
Mateusz@jbertrand3000 There is no point in using multiple plugins to optimize images. Please choose one plugin and use it.
Hi @diak911,
Thank you for your message. I am sorry you have encountered a problem with our plugin.
The reports we receive very often do not concern a problem with the plugin operation, but problems with understanding how the plugin works. Below I have attached the tutorial describing how to test the plugin:
https://mattplugins.com/docs/how-to-test-converter-for-media-pluginThe vast majority of files are available in WebP format, except for the two mentioned by PageSpeed ??Insight. This is because these images were not smaller than the original after conversion to WebP, and the original images are used.
However, we have a solution for this. I recommend you to try the AVIF format on your website. I did an analysis to learn more about the potential benefits of using the AVIF format for you. Images converted to the AVIF format on your website will weigh 78% less than images converted to WebP only, maintaining even better image quality. This will further improve the performance of your website and then all images should be available in next generation format.
If you have any other questions, please, feel free to reach out to me. We will try to help you.

MateuszHi @namzzz,
Thank you for your message.
I installed the “Spotlight – Social Media Feeds” plugin and linked it to my Instagram account. Then I added a new photo to Instagram and waited an hour for the images to refresh in my WordPress. The images refreshed and I have no errors during this process.
Unfortunately I am not able to reproduce this error on my testing environment.
Best,
Mateusz@andiprestige Please tell me how I can help you? I gave you a solution to the problem – there is no other solution.
I do not see any information about security reasons on any screenshot. Please show me where it is written?
Hi @jamieburchell,
Thank you for your message.
WordPress is responsible for removing these values ??- not my plugin. What I mean by this is that generally no plugin manages these values ??in the database – that’s handled by the WordPress core.
I have no idea why this value wasn’t removed. There’s nothing I can do about it in the plugin code. It was probably some temporary error and I suggest you ignore it.
If the problem persists, please let me know.
Best,
MateuszHi @andiprestige,
Thank you for your message.
The error message says it all – I don’t know what else I can tell you. Please contact your hosting support and ask them. And only then come back to me.
What you sent in the screenshot shows that you have activated some image optimization features, but I don’t know which and where. If you are using an image optimization plugin, there is no point in activating the image optimization feature on the hosting.
Best,
MateuszHi @roissya24,
Thank you for your message.
I honestly don’t know what this error means or how it is generated. The “openat()” command is a Linux command, not a PHP command, which our plugin is written on. This information is not enough for me to help you.

In reply to: [ACF: Better Search] Compatibility with ACFHi @ov3rfly,
Thank you for your message.
I do not want to go into details related to recent events. I prefer to stay away from it.
The only thing I can say is that our plugin uses WordPress filters to modify SQL database queries. In the plugin you are talking about, there is no possibility to change the data structure in the database, because it would mean no backward compatibility. I mean, it is possible, but it would require a lot of work.
Currently, everything should work without any problems.
Best,
Mateusz@sarahdev, this is how the plugin works and it is intentional. It does not cause any problems and everything works fine.
@sarahdev, what double expansion issues do you mean?
The plugin does not change URLs to images, so when looking at the source of the website, you will see the URLs for the default images all the time. The plugin creates redirections to output files in WebP and AVIF format, changing the MIME type of these images, but without changing the URL.
Below I have attached the tutorial describing how to test the plugin:
https://mattplugins.com/docs/how-to-test-converter-for-media-pluginHi @sarahdev,
Thank you for your message.
Our plugin is not used to optimize the amount of disk space used. The plugin can be used to optimize the weight of images loaded on the website, which makes the website load faster.
Maybe I’ll tell you how our plugin works? When a browser tries to download an image file, the plugin checks if it supports the AVIF format (if enabled in the plugin settings). If so, the browser will receive an equivalent of the original image in the AVIF format. If it does not support AVIF, but supports the WebP format, the browser will receive the equivalent of the original image in WebP format. In case the browser does not support either WebP or AVIF, the original image is loaded. This means full support for all browsers.
Our plugin does not modify or delete original files. Files converted to WebP and AVIF formats are saved in a separate directory: /wp-content/uploads-webpc/.
Best,
MateuszHi @gemour,
Thank you for your message and thanks for the reminder.
We currently do not support such possibilities. This is because our plugin stores converted files in a separate directory:
/wp-content/uploads-webpc/
. Plugins like WP Offload Media only support the/wp-content/uploads/
directory. We cannot change the concept of our plugin, because this change would mean potential problems for all users of the plugin.I hope you understand our point of view.
Best,
Mateusz
