I have ONE page with the shortcode and that’s it.

Jacob it doesn’t show anything at all to me in Albums. You can check yourself (the url is above).

Must i enable something else ?

Ok i was able to change / edit FULLY the Title and Description for the page that contains the Shortcode (base page as i call it). Doing that via the excellent SEO Framework i use. Didn’t notice i could change all pages like that. So this is solved, except that now i have TWO titles. We will see how this goes. It is a step.

Now for the albums. I think since we have a title and description in wppa, that should/could be used. Something like your example. I think it ok.

One question: wouldn’t that be possible for wppa to provide the data to popular seo plugins, instead of adding your own ? Is that possible ?

Does google reads Open Graph ? Or it is just for Facebook ? I have no idea, i need to search this.

Because in your test i still see NO Correct Title (the og:title is ok) and NO Meta Description, only og: description. Why ?

Ok, after one week online, i have the gallery pages indexed by Google and i can see what is right and wrong and also post details.

1. The page that has the shortcode: Has only a NON configurable title, in my case:

<title>Venice Photo Galleries – Discover Venice</title>

No Description of any kind, so Google has indexed like this (google took the description random from the page):

Since the albums have a title and description, we could have them also in <title> and <description>.

I would suggest for me to upgrade, still this would be bad for all people using your plugin and have older WP versions to 4.9.

Also, does all this caching thing (i brought up) worth your time ?

Jacob, maybe the wp_unschedule_hook was introduced in 4.9 and i’m running 4.8.x ?

Thanks, i will do all that later in the night and update here.

This is a bad decision. Because if i want to EXCLUDE Wppa from caching (the page that hosts the shortcode), WPPA still clears the WHOLE cache. Imagine that in a blog with 10.000 posts or other stuff.

For me, i did comment out the comet cache clear call in wppa functions file. Not the best approach, but ….

Still, the best media gallery out there !!!!

Your plugin clears the WHOLE CACHE OF THE SITE, that is what i try to tell you.

Posts, pages, everything.

I don’t think that is right. It should clear YOUR pages only.

Still what is the reason that your plugin to support those caching plugins, when only one page per album and one page with the wppa shortcode is cached ?

Anyway, i highly disagree with STATIC caching not needed, but it is OT to write why etc etc here.

No, it is because the URLS are the same. So all images have the same URL as page #1 of each album.

During last weekend i (re) installed WPPA plugin to my personal project site and uploaded some 300 photos.

Did also a lot of tests with the Comet Cache before excluding the wppa urls.

After 48 hours i checked the cache folders and i saw only 3 pages cached. The wppa page that contains the shortcode and two albums.

That seemed strange and i enabled the Comet Cache comments at the bottom of html source of each page.

And i found that for EACH photo displayed at Lightbox popup, the cache is refreshed. Why ? Because the URL is the same as the Album url.

So actually there is a very very little caching happening so totally excluding the urls will make no change in my site performance.

Just some information for people reading here.
