Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: menu item limitHi
Adding php_value max_input_vars 5000 to my .htaccess isn’t working. This is my .htaccess, could someone tell me where to add it? If I add is after ‘Rewrite Engine on’ I get a server error.
<IfModule mod_rewrite.c> RewriteEngine On RewriteBase / RewriteRule ^index\.php$ - [L] RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d RewriteRule . /index.php [L] </IfModule> # BEGIN WordPress <IfModule mod_rewrite.c> RewriteEngine On RewriteBase / RewriteRule ^index\.php$ - [L] RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d RewriteRule . /index.php [L] </IfModule> # END WordPress RewriteEngine on
I tried adding
<IfModule mod_php.c> php_value max_input_vars = 9000 </IfModule>
But it doesn’t fix the max menu problem
Thanks in advance

In reply to: New Site looking for creative feedbackI’m inclined to agree with the comments here, too bright too hard to read. I don’t mind the header, you might have something there looking quite urban but the rest doesn’t fit in.
mores – I quite liked augenkrebs.de.vu ??

In reply to: First time blogger looks for creative feedback -just launchedMaybe it’s because the home page has so many blogs, therefore pictures. I found a plugin where you can set how many posts are on the home page, mores – do you think it would be necessary to do this?

Thanks too StrangeAttractor it’s good to know how and why others work.
Opinionated – sounds like a good idea I might put a poll on the site, I didn’t realize that the floating menu would be such a talked about item…

In reply to: First time blogger looks for creative feedback -just launchedthanks alrosenquist, I’m glad not everyone dislikes the scrolling nav ??
mores – thanks for your added comments. I liked your site too, how you split it into categories is neat! You’re kids look too cute to do anything nasty anyway.

In reply to: First time blogger looks for creative feedback -just launchedCarol – I’ve added the RSS feeds but couldn’t decide where to put a description, do you think it is obvious there in the left column? It’s also in the title tag.
Thanks mikey1, thisisedie (hope it cheered you up) and Opinionated for your nice comments.
Mores – I did take your comment lightly ??
jrogers – I’ll see if i can get the left nav to sit in a better position with no script,
Cheers

In reply to: First time blogger looks for creative feedback -just launchedHi, Thanks for the feedback, I’m new to this so could you tell me why is it that you run ff with no script? What’s the advantage? I thought my floating menu was a good idea because of my long pages – it meant that users didn’t have to go to the top to go somewhere else.
