You have a good plugin called Post Thumbs Revisited it works pretty well. Here is the plugin page

Support is really good and plugin shows posts, videos and has a lot of configuration options

I have the same question, John. Blog like superficial, dlisted, justjared show the original picture eiyhin a page, not the attached file. I′ve found that those blogs show a URL like https://www.nameofblog.com/image or https://www.nameofblog/pictures.

If you discover the trick please, tell me. I’ll do the same if I can find the way
