Sorry, that I could not answer in this short time, but we have so much wellknown trouble with woocommerce and have to find ways to prevent funny answers to real problem like I get from you.
We are also programmers, but oldstyle and responsible guys. The actually programmers like to talk easy, like “never heard this before” or “you are the first customer with this problem”.
But behind this words is the truth, which says “we are not interested to work on done mistakes, we have more important new things to do”. This style teaches the big company MS very successful.
Our job is to feed well done software with data and not to do somebody else work who was to lazy or not able to finish his/her work nicely.

Also the the import function, which should take the already uploaded new Updates (CSV-Files) directly from the hosting server in the SQL-Database, works NOT.
We started with a challenge of 30MB CSV File and then cutted step by step down until we had a funny tiny and nice prepared 390KB Update CSV-File.
The last 390KB File runs more then 30min (Whow thats Stoneage timing) and runs into nirvana with no error Message. And all without internet transfer, directy from hosting server to the hostingserver.
By the way hostingcompanies don’t allow user configurations !! They perhaps follow only the instructions/suggestions of WP and WooCommerce.

So what should i say that you close that thread ? I am impressed …

Thanks for the help and the great tip “do it by yourself”

    Additional malfunction

when export then comes thru, at this time had to run 3 times over 2 days.

    4. Then the data in the csv-file is wrong.
    Column weight has wrong informations.
All numbers are integer, so the real weights which are corectly imported in the shop, now goin wrong.
Example: 0.750 kg is shown as 0 kg in the export list, its not a converting mistake its a real mistake.

    Yes Annoying I know ! ??

Hi sorry for late response but we need a lot of time running our system always updated with data, and have not too much time for the error handling. We using the actually WordPress Version 4.8.2 and WooCommerce 3.1.2

    A. The export malfunction is in the standard WooCommerce product export/import function. Both directions make this problems.

    1. I start the import/export
    2. The system shows normal function, but slows down soon
    3. good luck the order will be finished (especially when data very small)
    4. normal handling is after 1 or 2 hours nothing happens any more, the statusbar stops.
    5. after 3 or 4 times, this means import/export of one 20MB File in 4 – 10 hours

The internet upload is another problem, this mostly runs into a time out, so we dont use this horrible function. We upload the import file to the hostingserver, and start the import on the server directly. But then 2 – 10 hours integration of new Data … thats a joke. I made this in our last old shopsystem include internetupload insite 1-2 hours …

    B. After hours we received the Export-CSV
    1. the export function is is badly designed, why … after generating the export – csv the download starts immediatly which is not senseful, regarding the malfunction of some internetconnections. To get the exportfile by FTP access is in this case more reliable.
I would suggest to leave the export-file as long at the server until the user decides to delete it and not immediatly delete after download. Ask the admin with the remark about the used storage at the server … thats better.

    2. Checking the exportfile we found a mistake in the topic product weight. The weight is in kg and has, for example, 1.25 kg or 0.355 kg. After export the data the csv-file contents only 1 or 0 in this example. means the exportfunction dont get the characters after komma or point depends on the language version (we use german).

This to the topic of Import/Export
Now back to our main work
    Martin

Hi, I can reproduce a similar malfunction of the standard product export module. Like a crazy chicken the Export of products, 99% of my attempts, ending in the nirvana of nothing after several hours of waiting that the program is doing an easy job.
On the server the CSV-File is growing, but, nearly ready all stops without giving any response to the customer.
Why always the easy but important things are so bad programmed ?
Now we have to wait already 2 days and still no exportfile to check and change the data.
This makes opensource feel like, “dont pay and get all the bullshit which will disturb your business”. I think its the wrong way, because when not able to do easy programming how would it be when it starts to get complicated. I dont want to imagine.

Lets see how many weeks we have to live with this malfunction

    Sadly
    Martin
