In reply to: Running /wp-admin/install.php HELP :(Well, I am using StreamLine net hosting. They set me up a database and they did say they DO support php.
What else could be perhaps UNsupported?Forum: Installing WordPress
In reply to: Running /wp-admin/install.php HELP :(I knew I had to edit the file from the first instance, I just thought Mr.Mist was saying I had to edit it /again/.
The problem I’m having is that when I open wp-admin/install.php to begin the install, the page does not load. I have checked the config file many times – all seems in order.
I cannot get that php page to load! ??Forum: Installing WordPress
In reply to: Running /wp-admin/install.php HELP :(whooami, Yes I have read the instrutions. I even have a book on WordPress which I am also following but the problem I encountered isn’t covered anywhere! I would read instructions before asking for help!
Normally ‘it just works’ but for some reason when I open that install.php file in the browser still nothing happens.MrMist, why do I need to edit the contents of that config file? Is that where the problem lies do you think? I have checked and double-checked the contents of it are correct.
BTW – I have now renamed it. I didn’t think it was meant to have ‘sample’ in the name but I thought I’d check!
Thanks for continued support.

In reply to: Clueless with SQL and PHP!!! Install/setup problemsdid you sort it?
It’s also worth noting that if you upload the files loose in the root directory of your FTP directory, then the blog will be on the home page.
I’m kinda having a few of my own problems installing too.
Did you rename the wp-config-sample.php file by removing the word ‘sample’? Are you meant to do that (having edited the DB details!) ?
