I tested some more and finally found the error. It was due to the little piece of code I added to the header.php to display the flags in my topbar.
After enabling the wp_debug I saw the error.

Hi,

Is there a solution for the mentioned problem? Because I also experienced the same problem on my localhost website. To be more specific: All pages are blank except for three icons in the topbar, without any error messages. I also tried to access them from the admin, but it doesn’t work. Also the trick with the permalinks doesn’t work.

So, in this stage I’m a bit reluctant to use Polylang on my published website.
I first want to be sure this can be corrected and if so, how precisely.

I also got this issue and after some searching I found the trick.

Go to the index.php file of the plugin and find the following piece of code:

$defaults = array(
    	"post_type" => "page",
		"parent" => "0",
		"post_parent" => "0",
		"numberposts" => "-1",
		"orderby" => "menu_order",
		"order" => "ASC",
		"post_status" => "any",
		"suppress_filters" => 0 // suppose to fix problems with WPML

Change “menu_order” into “post_title”.

For me it worked perfect.

Solved! I had to use an underscore instead of a minus.

I created the wpml-config.xml file like this

<wpml-config>
	<admin-texts>
		<key name="Practical WP-options">
			<key name="footer_text" />
			<key name="home_widgets_title" />
			<key name="latest_projects_title" />
		</key>
	</admin-texts>
</wpml-config>

and put in the folder /wp-content/polylang/. Unfortunately it still doesn’t work. I don’t know what’s wrong, because the options are in an array in my database and according to other posts about this subject this is the right way to define it in the xml file.
